Sherlock Holmes

Post by DrDonkeyLove »

It's just a modern day CGI heavy buddy movie wrapped in the Holmes persona but, all in all, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. I didn't know it was a Guy Ritchie movie until the credits rolled. Getting rid of Madonna probably did him some good. Robert Downey Jr. now has a double annuity between Holmes and Iron Man sequels.

Nothing like the old stuff w/ Basil Rathbone, but nobody would pay to see that these days. I enjoyed it, so did my twelve yr old and her friend. At times the CGI was very obvious, but it was a fun story, funny, exciting and well acted.

This is a good, fun popcorn flick. My only complaint is that they passed up at least one opportunity to show Rachel McAdams naked.

Agreed. there might have been a bit more made of his skill in bartitsu (particularly stick-fighting), as well, but I suppose the random bareknuckle brawl was intended to address that. Guy Ritchie did a commendable job with the film, in my opinion.

I dig her scene.

I enjoyed the movie, especially the banter. Robert Downey Jr. is a ridiculously gifted actor. I actually found myself really enjoying the soundtrack too. Worth the $8.50 - perfect way to spend the afternoon.

I very much enjoyed this movie...a lot of fun. The tommy knocker and bare knuckle boxing scenes were cool. Like Jezzie I really like the music. I'll be picking up the soundtrack.

Already got it on iTunes bitches.

And apparently Zimmer used an out of tune piano, crazy.
