Been looking for a pair of minimalist shoes that are a little better than the standard ol Chucks. These were on sale at onlineshoes.com and I've always liked Asics shoes so I figgerd WTF.
Really like them so far. Super minimal sole and a nice tight fit. No reason at all these couldn't be used for running and they make a great gym shoe.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.
Having worn these for the last five months to do everything from sprints, 5ks, squats, deads, and just as walking around the city shoes I've got a few observations.
They are narrow to the point that the outside of my right foot is actually over the outside of the insole which is fairly uncomfortable for periods longer than an hour. Especially if walking around in the for a day. It actually looks like the insole concave on the outside of the shoe (right shoe only). i'll post a picture.
They are too long, like my heel doesn't go far enough back even when the shoe is tied tightly.
The sole is definately on the narrow side. Fits my foot fine, but I have fairly narrow dogs. I could definately see issues for people with wider feet.
I jogged a 5k in them on Saturday while my wife ran the race. Didn't push the pace at all, ran about a 25 or 26. But didn't have any issues with the shoes. I've also been wearing then for a few hours at a stretch at work at the gym and so far I've liked them.

I have two pairs of these, and have used them on the track for 400-800 meter repeats. These are a sturdy option if you are interested in a gradual step down from "running shoes". Wear without socks and you will definitely feel your foot dynamics. After years of training in cushioned trainers, I'm not ready for high volume or high intensity training in something this minimal - but I am working on it. (currently using "Nike Frees Everyday +2 model)
