Crazy Heart - ***1/2 out of **** stars.
Cast: Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robert Duvall, Colin Farrell.
Plot:
Down and out country singer who reminded me of Waylon Jennings, Cash & Kristofferson. Has all the ingredients - truck, guitar, whiskey, women, bad hotels, loyal friends, broke relationships, humor, disgrace.
Summary:
I'm not a "country" fan, so I held off this one for a few months. I thought it might be a bad rehash of Tender Mercies (Robert Duvall), which was a great movie. I should have went sooner - this was a notable offering. Probably will earn Bridges an Oscar. He plays guitar and sings and does it well. This cracked the top three of my list this year.

Great fucking movie. And the Dude won the Oscar for it. Great call.
