His scenario of being at a bar implies a lack of social retardation, plus it's so god damned hard to stay "Zone" in a bar.

Wow Kyle awesome vid. Now when I feel like quitting during my WOD I'll think of this.

However, news for the lurking:
Its official, Couch is in training, cleaning up his act and tossing the royal fuckups who have been producing the idiotic WODs in the last couple of months.
As good as gone, Bony Pudding.
After the gaymes, Shaved Astroglide will have used up his usefulness.
Also, affiliates are not reupping.
Fixing the certs is way too late.

If it were anyone else saying it, I'd call bullshit. Do you mean physical training, detox or both?Gary John wrote:

Wait, Bony and Shave are, or will be no more? That'll bring the entertainment value down if Bony and Couch don't get together for those awesome videos.Gary John wrote:As the thread goes south again. Reposting the same picture constantly shows true lack of commitment.

"It was absolutely amazing," a breathless Aporta said. "It's a euphoric feeling to challenge yourself against modern-day gladiators on a field like this - to put yourself to the test and no matter how tall, how short, how big, how small, how young or how old, you get to compete amongst your peers and be an athlete again."

Performing a wide variety of functional movements with (relatively) high intensity is what gives results, even if the technique isn't "proper." Now, our definition of proper technique is that which is most effective, efficient and safe, so of course we are highly supportive of it.

I thought you might be interested to know that the two winners of the SoCal sectionals this past weekend were collegiate track athletes. Ingrid Kantola was a heptathlete for UCLA and Storm Huie a 400m runner for UCI. I don't know about Ingrid, but since Storm trains at my affiliate, I know he's been doing CrossFit for just a shade under one year. It seems fairly self-evident to me that having the combination of strength, speed, power, and endurance that certain track and field events require will carry over once you learn the CrossFit-specific movement patterns, but there you have it. Both won by a fairly comfortable margin and I'll be eager to see how they do at regionals. Ingrid completely dominated, taking first in every workout without anyone particularly close behind her.

In the <30 seconds I devoted to the task, I couldn't find the specific image of the statue of a hoplite from antiquity which that pose was meant to evoke, but I don't think it's necessary to underline my basic point, which is that pretending to be a Spartan is kinda ghey.Paddy O'Furniture wrote:Check out the new demo girl for the level 1 money train (click for full-sized eliteness)...
