No. It's just that Shaf is willy-nilly with his powers. It's OK to post money shots but it's off topic to post redneck pics of Stosh.

How about this one where her and her crew go to the beach and, at the 2:00 mark, are receiving medical assistance after tackling each other into a fire? WTF?

Yeah, sorry about the Eva repost. I was absent from this thread for about 6 months. I'm sure I'm just now discovering some of last season's finest.

Hey Rant, I just asked. You and Stosh could do real justice to the topic of Stosh in a Stosh thread.

So, today's lesson kiddies is this; never mix alkyhol and rampant douchebaggery. If you do, please make no effort to get out of the fire pit. You'll be doing humanity a huge solid.

Foghat Live was one of my favorite all-time albums.

LOL.

Couch posting Stanford's definition of pseudo-science the other day. He needed a reminder of how dumb the sheep are, so he throws @F's "xyience" in their faces:
http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/005332.html
Then Kool-Aid drinker Steve comments later with a link on how to specifically identify pseudo-science. Just like with the cult stuff posted previously, the obviousness with which @F fits into this is just sad.
http://www.chem1.com/acad/sci/pseudosci.html
Pseudoscience
  • Pseudosciences are more likely to be driven by ideological, cultural, or commercial goals.
  • The field has evolved very little since it was first established. The small amount of research and experimentation that is carried out is generally done more to justify the belief than to extend it.
  • In the pseudosciences, a challenge to accepted dogma is often considered a hostile act if not heresy, and leads to bitter disputes or even schisms.
  • Observations or data that are not consistent with established beliefs tend to be ignored or actively suppressed.
  • The major tenets and principles of the field are often not falsifiable, and are unlikely ever to be altered or shown to be wrong.
  • Pseudoscientific concepts tend to be shaped by individual egos and personalities, almost always by individuals who are not in contact with mainstream science. They often invoke authority (a famous name, for example) for support.
  • Pseudoscientific explanations tend to be vague and ambiguous, often invoking scientific terms in dubious contexts.
Examples of every single one of the above are plainly obvious and most are documented in this thread already.

Reminds me of how funny it is to hear couch calling out others on their supposed pseudo-science, fatness, weak performances, and no squat.

And no, the irony of this post is not lost on me. :finga:

That rest day post has got some serious issues.

check out this bit
Je'Von, the athlete pictured above, is a 'benchmark' human being.

That is to say, if we measure the physical prowess of our efforts against 'Fran' or 'Grace' - we should be honored to measure our self-discipline, humility, and genuine love against 'Je'Von'.

If Je'Von were a workout, he would be an AMRAP of stillness for 20 minutes, followed by an AMRAP or helping out a human being for 20 minutes, followed by an AMRAP of stillness for a total of 60 minutes.

(Much bigger than the other WOD's but far more humble, still, learned, and unassuming).

After that we'd still probably beat everyone at whatever workout we chose to tag on to get our heartrate up.

We <3 you Coach Je'Von!

When I went to school (14-15 years old) there was a wrestler with exactly the same build as Eva T.

Dug this quote from Gym Jones last week:
in a circuit or IWT, a full Clean or Snatch is about the silliest movement one could use. For fitness (as opposed to O-lifting competition) it is the pull from the floor to full hip/knee/ankle extension that produces the gains. Catching the bar is mostly irrelevant. Fun. Cool. And, in this context, useless.
A novice is someone who keeps asking himself if he is a novice. An intermediate is someone who is sick of training with weak people and an advanced person doesn't give a shit anymore. - Jim Wendler
