Don't know which is worse. @Fit Endurance's BMacNCheeze trying to make children embrace douchebaggery or for Kung-Fu Grip Tony Blauer to allow his child to be handled by douchebag hands.

Worth repeating:
They are America’s self-styled fitness elite, adherents of a punishing online exercise regime called CrossFit, which orders its followers to cultivate a distinctly martial — not to say paranoid — ideal of “physical preparedness.”

CrossFit has 450 chapters in 43 states (and several other countries). The network has a message for the merely healthy: “Your workout is our warm-up.” Every day, its members consult CrossFit.com like a Book of Common Prayer, receiving instructions for their workout rites and periods of rest.

@fit and the bible:

Jesus WOD:
A group of CrossFit Central Coaches & Friends got together on Friday to do the "Jesus WOD," which was designed in honor of Easter. The WOD had 14 rounds to represent the 14 stations of the Cross with 3 Turkish Get Ups to represent the 3 times that Jesus fell to the ground. The WOD was also done at 3 pm on Good Friday to represent the time that Jesus passed on the Cross.

I am 2 months in to Crossfit and it has been the most rewarding exercise regime i have ever been a part of. I can’t help but notice all the talk that goes on about building character, habits and traits and taking them and applying it to our lives outside of Crossfit. I must say that I am a Christian and that all these things we talk about Crossfit, Jesus Christ has called us to do the same. “As you step out of the gym, how can you take your Crossfit practice into your life?”

At so many levels, I find this dip in Christian Theology by our Crossfit brothers and sisters to be, at best, interesting. One may recall that someone was called out for their "so called" values years ago...of course, I have forgotten all about it.

Some thoughts:
1. I was thinking, "My son could do that, but he's 8."
2. I was waiting for the kid to drop the tire on his foot. Then the dad would really look good.
3. What a doosh. Yelling at the kid to flip the tire? Just sounded lame.

I did like the kid saying, "Help me," and the dad just keeping the video rolling.

Happy early Father's Day, bitch.

Sort of interesting, what with the new requirements, testing, affiliation bullshit, etc. CFHQ realized that the cat was out of the bag for the absolutely USELESS L1 cert, and when they tried to tighten it up people noticed some things. Mainly, that just having an L1 cert no longer enables you to train people.

So funny, that the Dales and Boneys, etc. just wont ever fess up and admit that they fucked up the last 5 or so years in a blatant cash grab.

I think that's awesome. Kid learned a good lesson in not giving up. And he's as strong as most Cultfitters already and he's only 5.

Over the past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Martin of CF Kids. I talked to him about our plans of running a kids fitness summer camp. He had some valid concerns about what we are planning on doing. One was insurance with not having a certified CF Kids coach on staff even though Melia works with kids in her gymnastics gym every day. So for now we are going to have to hold off on the kids program. It is still in the plans and I am going to send Melia to the CF Kids seminar in the near future. Sorry to those who were ready to go but this is for everyone's benefit.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - Helen Keller

I am pretty sure you need to specify you are working with kids for that insurance to be valid. A gymnastics coach is covered under the facility she works at.

Well duh. The proper process is to go to the @F Kids "cert", then test to become certified, then buy the RRG rider (GET INSIDE THE CASTLE WALLS!!!1!!1) to cover @F kids classes. couch needs his gin money from all, little ones included.

If it were framed a more as play, cool. Daddy screaming at the kid, not so much.

I don't care for the screaming/peer-pressure method of coaching anyway, much less applied to kids who still wet the bed.

Even with the acceptable 20% slop factor, the couch would condemn the kid for rounding his back and not using proper deadlifting technique when getting the thing off the ground (i.e. Caviston discussion).

That kid would've had an easier time with that tire had he been wearing some vibrams and a wallet with a chain attached.

Hooking the tire up to some bands and chains is where da yoof training is at.
