Breaking Bad

Post by Shaun B. O'Murnecan »

If you are not watching this series on the AMC then you should be. I downloaded the first season and it is fantastic. It is hard to believe that the protagonist is the same guy from _Malcolm in the Middle_.

The acting is incredible and the story arc fascinating. It is a show you have to watch from the beginning. A compelling story and real character development.

Highly recommended.

Agreed. This is a very good show, excellent all around. It can be pretty funny, too, but in a sometimes 'dark' sort of way.

I watched the first season on DVD, and I've been TiVoing the new season; haven't gotten back to it yet.

I watched the first season live and have DVRed the second season. I'm watching the DVR episodes now. It was good, but has gotten better. Storylines are snapping taut; the new characters are doing their jobs well, especially the lawyer played by Bob Odenkirk.

Great freaking show.

I saw the first season but then lost track of it. Pretty good show.

Not enough whores to accurately reflect the tweaker scene IMO.

Season 3 premiere has aired now and is very good. I read an interview with Bob Odenkirk (the shady lawyer, Saul Goodman) and he's in 10 eps this season. I am in.

The premiere did have me asking myself: Tough guys walking away from huge explosion with no reaction-- badass or cliche?

Then I read an interview with Brian Cranston about how they filmed it. Badass.

Best drama on TV right now.

I love Breaking Bad, but I didn't love the S3 premiere. The twin tough guys made me a bit tentative about where it was going. Still, fantastic show and I look forward to the rest of the season.

my guess is the 2 mexican gangster dudes are Tuco's cousin's, that never showed up last season
This is a smart show, the bald twins might shock us with what they're doing.

Even if they're exactly what they appear to be, I'm strapping in for the ride.

Jesse, Pollo, Goodman, Skyler... every seconday character is in a position to throw serious curveballs. It's not The Wire, but it's damned good. Even better knowing Odenkirk is going to be a persistent presence.

Can't wait.

If you've been missing this show, you've missed at least 3 of the best episodes of TV in the last decade. Do the series justice and watch season 1-2 first. Then strap in for season 3. Last night's episode had me almost falling off my sofa.

Breaking Bad is an exemplary show with fun, unpredictable twists.

The Wire is a document that deserves a Pulitzer or a Nobel.

But hell, most people have heard how great The Wire is. If you haven't, check it out immediately. Better than The Sopranos.

Whether you do or don't, start watching Breaking Bad from the beginning. Certainly worth the time. Best drama on TV right now.

Oh, I don't think 'Breaking Bad' is in the same category as 'The Wire'. Then again, I'm white. I still think it's pretty damn good, though I just constantly want to punch Skyler in the face.

I also stopped caring about the Sopranos after about the 3rd season and stopped watching it. The Wire is pure genius, especially seasons 3-4.

You have excellent taste and criticism sir.

Just download season three of Breaking Bad. Prolly will start watching it after the World Cup.
