Before they get deleted, games message board...
Yes Dave seems mad, putting on an event of this magnitude and being the only person who knows the WoDs ahead of time and the only one who answers all the questions on the WoDs has to be VERY stressful, plus I think he is known to be a bit of a hot head.
Also, you have never met Dave Castro, and I suggest you don't make it a goal to do so...remember the Black Box Summit? Prime example of who he is
Kent-In all honesty, my information source is the same as yours. I do know that a lot of well-respected HQ trainers suspiciously "resigned" afterwards. I should heed your advice about not judging persons based on internet information. I suppose I just find it hard to believe that Robb Wolf would make all that up, and have the other persons who were verbally attacked make that up and corroborate his story, and quit his job at HQ, which I am assuming was semi-lucrative. I think that HQ has developed a dangerous mentality that will eventually drive persons away from its organization rather than pull people in. The community as you mentioned earlier is driven by the persons who do Crossfit, not HQ. HQ is a business (a very lucrative one-see revenue for Level 1 Certs) that is modeled on having a hand in a lot of cookie jars. No matter what HQ does, the "spirit" of Crossfit will survive any poor decision making by HQ
BUT, I have to ask. Is it just me, or am I reading too much into what I have seen on previous interviews and what I am seeing this weekend? Is Dave Castro the wrong person to have representing Crossfit? He seems to be extremely cocky, a hot head, condescending, and full of himself. I could be wrong, and hope that I am. But please tell me that this guy isnt the public face of crossfit.
I agree about Castro, he is the "Dana White" of Crossfit. I think as the sport grows that may go away. I'm enjoying the commentary in between events from Everret and Sherwood. Either of those guys could take over for Castro as far as I'm concerned.

The way they CONTINUE to ruin the scoring is an embarrassment to the effort and athleticism of the competitors they are disrespecting.
Is Dave Castro actually God? Or is he just the Dana White of Crossfit? just curious kids.
Is Dave Castro actually God? It sure seems like he thinks he is.
Other than Castro, these Games rule. CFHQ please get Everett, Sherwood or someone with actual experience and a decent personality to do this next year. This guy thinks he is so awesome but could not finished any of these WODs as rx'd.
@fox right on! Castro is a hot head, thinks he's god, and proved this weekend that he could care less about standards. What a douche!
Other than him, the games were amazing and I LOVE crossfit. Just can't stand guys like that. I saw a post about his time as a navy seal and other guys that served with him to talking about what an idiot he is.
