Predators

Made up for the AvP abortions. Very good.
Some weak areas, but they were easily ignored.

I liked it.
Like you said it had some weak spots but I liked the story and the little nods to the first movie.

Fun flick. I'm a super nerd so I like that they touched on (if only for a for a minute or so) the Predator mythos from the comics.

I never read them; so what did they pull from the comics?Ronald RayGun wrote:Fun flick. I'm a super nerd so I like that they touched on (if only for a for a minute or so) the Predator mythos from the comics.

They touched on the almost constant war between Predator tribes and the hierarchy of the tribes. They only stop fighting each other during designated hunting seasons where they sharpen their skills to evolve into what they think would be the perfect warrior.
Like I said, it was only touched on and very lightly, but a nice tip of the cap to the nerds.

Very good and as above, tried to make up for the AVP shit.
I especially liked the Yakuza and his sword fight.

It's the way Billy should have went out in the first one minus killing the Predator.GoDogGo! wrote:Very good and as above, tried to make up for the AVP shit.

SPOILER SPACE
I got the vibe that after the first few runs at the Predator, the Yak realized that the only way to take it out was with a sacrificial attack, getting in a killing blow that also left himself open and likely to die.
And BTW, the best line in the film is: "Uh, yeah. 5 o'clock.... bitch-raping time."

Since we're in spoiler mode...

I missed exactly what the deal was with that large, bipedal grayish thing that was chasing the doctor at one point. It was dropped in the cages, right? Was it supposed to be another "prey" species for the hunt? It looked vaguely humanoid. And what killed it, since the IDF chick missed her shot? I meant to watch that part again but it got sent back to Netflix before I got the chance.

Damn I watched most of it again last night. I'm glad I saved it to my DVR but I need to buy this movie.
