I believe that Couch has taken it to the next step...genetic engineering.

At my father-in-law's PL meet today, I saw this and discovered that Couch has teamed up with the Raelians in cloning.

I'll let you be the judge.

I guess they didn't pull in enough from the $100 spectator fees to make it worthwhile.

This may have been covered before but was Asstro really a SEAL ? The guy looks like he couldn't crawl out of the kiddie pool.
Plus how could an operator be around him without just smacking him for general principles ?

Yes
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

crossfitendurance.com:

On December 4th, 2010 a select group of CFZ athletes will complete one randomly-drawn intensive CrossFit workout an hour for 24 consecutive hours. Each hour on the hour, a WOD will be drawn and athletes will immediately perform it. Due to the technical complexity of movement and coordination required for many of the expected 24 WODs, as well as the overall high intensity throughout, this event is expected to prove more extreme and more physically and mentally challenging than many ultra endurance 24-hour running or cycling events. There will be a number of additional slots open for each of the 24 WODs for supporters to join and many opportunities for all members of the CFZ friends and family to be involved in this event.

LOL, yeah...okay

They're so XTREME they don't even need to compete in actual events that already exist.

Doing short, intense workouts for 24 hours is not more difficult than doing the same thing for 24 hours.

yes, because as we all know, its SO much fucking easier to do one workout an hour, recover, maybe get a nap, eat, refuel than it is to run or bike for 24 straight hours.

What a bunch of tools.

Watched the local @fit couch train his manboy Thursday. Horrible cattleball snatch form, weak ass overhead pressing, and shitty power cleans.

This fucker attended 1 cert and refuses to learn anything else. I'm glad those faggots weren't there tonight.

I should forward that challenge to guys like Joe Decker, Rob Powell, and Patty Doyle. Those guys would laugh their asses off.

There's a good thread over at gymnastics bodies about the misapplication of gymnastics exercises by Crossfit:

http://www.gymnasticbodies.com/forum/vi ... =11&t=4965

Sommer has forgotten more about programming for that stuff than couch has ever known.
1) Whether or not you agree does not change the simple fact that the workout listed above is an example of incorrect programming. Plain and simple. There is a reason that despite years of exposure to ring strength training, most fitness enthusiasts still possess the ring strength ability of a seven year old gymnast.

As I have said many times in the past, gymnastics strength training is not a buffet where you simply get to choose the items which look most inviting at that particular moment. You MUST follow clear, concise progressions in your programming or you are merely spinning your wheels. At best you will make little to no progress; regardless of how hard you work. At worst you are courting nearly certain injury.

2) Endurance is increased by performing with submaximal loads; not maximal. Attempting to build endurance by simultaneously increasing volume, intensity and load is a guaranteed path to injury. There is no distinction achieved in developing the ability to blow yourself up.

If someone would like to develop superior strength endurance, they must first develop superior strength. Strength always comes first. For an example of how correct programming in your gymnastics strength training will also increase strength endurance, please review Appendix C on page 187 in BtGB; "120 Muscle-ups in 15 Minutes". You may find it especially instructive to note that prior to that workout, my athletes focused solely on increasing their maximal strength (reps of 3-5) and yet completely crushed that particular assignment.

Yours in Fitness,
Coach Sommer

Not to disparage Louie's accomplishments at all, but is he even still competing or doing things personally that should make people concerned with what HE is doing versus what his actively-competing athletes are doing? [/quote]

Louie's numbers from yesterday's meet:
705 Squat 505 Bench 675 Deadlift 1885@220

66 years old, I think? It seems he still knows what he's doing with his training.

So the young girl with one leg trained AND competed in a PL meet last weekend? No more comparing the @fit girlies with anybody i guess.
