No, it's not. LE and Fire personnel are in danger of actually dying on every call. A workout shouldn't put people at risk of death.Idiot @Fitter wrote:It (Uncle Rhabdo) was a case of black humour that some people appreciate, some people don't...its similar to a soldier or a fireman joking with peers about getting into trouble on a mission/call

This won't help them an ounce when the shite goes down.Nicole wrote:So, what does this mean for Level 1 Trainers?
Your Level 1 Trainer Certificate will still afford all the benefits as it did in the past - the ability to train others using CrossFit methods and the opportunity to apply for affiliation. Now, it has the added benefit of being accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) http://www.ansi.org/about_ansi/introduc ... x?menuid=1
Is this retroactive for all Level 1 Trainers?
All Level 1 Trainer Certificate holders who have taken and passed the Level 1 Test now hold ANSI accredited Level 1 Trainer Certificates.
Here are a couple additional links that will be helpful:

I definitely encourage you to read through these documents as they will help provide clarification to many of the questions and concerns that are coming up.

Certification organizations that submit their programs for accreditation are evaluated based on the process and products, not the content, and are therefore applicable to all professions and industries.

“Unstoppable”
You can beat me. But not defeat me.
. . . .
But make no mistake, you can never defeat me.
It’s simply not possible.

Yup, you can get accreditation for many things that would make people scratch their head and go "huh?". The accreditation doesn't mean you have a good product, only that you have a documented process that can be verified. Hence why sporting accreditation companies really haven't looked at ANSI, doesn't really mean anything to them. But CFHQ knows best...syaigh wrote:All the accreditation means is that their test is reflective of their curriculum. It does not legitimize their methods.

hey they already eschew peer review, exercise science and periodization; why not redefine what it means to be accredited?Steggy wrote:Yup, you can get accreditation for many things that would make people scratch their head and go "huh?".
