Fantastic Mr. Fox

Post by nafod »

Came out last year while I was away, so I missed it in the theaters. Seems like most people did, as it wasn't a big grosser. But it is on HBO right now, and it is a great movie. Based on a Roald Dahl book, so it's got some weird going on. George Clooney's droll is perfect for title character. Great dialog, stands repeat watchings. My kids love it.

If you're looking for a quirky but good stocking stuffer that the kids haven't heard of but will love, this would be the DVD to get.

Don’t believe everything you think.

I thought this was awesome.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

The book is bad-tempered and hilarious. The movie in the Boys' stocking this year.
The flesh is weak, and the smell of pussy is strong like a muthafucka.

I loved the book as a kid but wasn't wild about the movie.

I never read the book so couldn't compare. Maybe to my advantage?

Probably, in terms of enjoying the film.

Just saw this on DVD. I've read the book as well. This isn't the book (if it was, it'd be about 15 minutes long.)

Just appreciate it on its own- quirky and hilarious. Lots of banter in the "Thin Man" vein. Recommended.
