That's should be an easy one. 1000 pushups. Time limit: 30 minutes. Or tow a boat across some non-trivial body of water.

From the same thread, quoted from CJ bumstain :
"Periodization as variations in intensity: inescapable. Periodization as planned variations in intensity to optimize performance: witchcraft."

- Greg Glassman

for real? Is that for real? Did crutch really write that whilst sober?

The other crapfit stuff, maybe you can make a case for (exploiting novice effects over and over to keep the punters excited, it's cynical but understandable) - but that? Fuck me with a double-handled chainsaw, sans-lube ....

I think it's all readily apparent to anyone who's not a couch cumguzzler that couch loves these little soundbite pieces that have nothing backing them up.

Apparently Russian Weightlifters are discussing Crossfit here.

As usual, using google to translate provides mucho lulz.

Judging by the roller, with the technical side of creepy zrelische.Mne think that as a sport is Izmoroch.
Firstly, if there is competition then it's not exercise, something like a sport, I think you have to something one will shine itself, please be strong in doing T / A, you want to be running fast, etc., and here and symbiosis and light and heavy, and yet there is something, in short all at once, but in the end nothing, and little by little, I do not understand what had offended T / A, athletics, etc. that such a symbiosis of them do? Okay I understand people want to run fast, there is a training process includes Ex. with the weights or something, I also included the athletic panel. but things are not to run fast, but in order to raise, and here what he was doing what? and then if something is done it someone has to, nobody noticed as soon as the USSR began to outperform the U.S. in T / A came paurlifting, were winning in the L / R, Strong has appeared, they also, by analogy. shorter than all want to be champions, that's breed these species, and that now each creating its own form?

So, at the end of the day, CrossFit is a business based on faulty exercise, managed by bafoons, with idiots for clients.

All that's really needed for any business to succeed.

1000 is definitely not a trivial amount for a @Fitter, and I would even say that might lead to rhabdo...

I'm not suggesting it as a sane option, I'm suggesting it as the CrossFit (TM) option. The swimming one would drown them.

They've figured out the politics of "paurlifting" pretty quick.

12 Iowa players hospitalized with rhabdomyalysis

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... ized_N.htm

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entr ... 27247824/2

"On Jan. 20, however, Shane DiBona talked about a staggering workout on Facebook: "I had to squat 240 pounds 100 times and it was timed. I can't walk and I fell down the stairs ... lifes (sic) great."

I haven't read the word @fit associated with this stupidity, but the stopwatch makes me wonder where the S&C guy who's now employed got his inspiration.

JFC. The comments on that CBS website keep referring to PEDs. They might have been on PEDs, sure, but @F-style workouts obviously don't need PEDs to go all rhabdo on even trained athletes. Also, highly unlikely that all 12 guys would come down with rhabdo at exactly the same time from meds. I so hope the word @F comes out associated with this.

http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=64570
didn't know where to post this, but thought here was a good place. sounds like 12 people got rhabdo by being pig headed in the weight room. Sounds utterly insane that a trainer could let this happen as practicing crossfitter, but I can't say i'm surprised.
Not quite sure what he's trying to say there, but it is interesting.

No, 24 at once is. I think we covered this in the thread a while back.

Damn people are stupid.
Chris Doyle, Iowa's strength and conditioning coach, could not be reached for comment.
Ya think??

Because the hallmark of a "good workout" is its ability to redline you and put you out of commission for days if not weeks or more.

fucking idiots

Like Dan John said (paraphrased), "it's not hard to make someone run around, get tired, and throw up."
