The following is a public service message from the founder of the CF Masters facebook page re: the Gaymes;
The time for accounting is upon us. Now, we will be measured. Now we will be exposed. Now we will be seen for what we are. And, what we are is a CrossFitter. We do not hide from the light of judgment. We do not slink along the corridors out of sight of others who might view our acomplishmets. We proudly write on the white board of life the evidence of our effort. We declare ourselves to the world in time and distance and total weight, and rep count. We expand our environment by projecting our performance into the world for everyone to see. We offer recognition to our fellow CrossFiters not to agrandize ourselves but to encorage each other to continue and strive. To exert maximum effort in all things.
We rise each day, seek the sun and then, with one heart and mind, strengthened by each other and our own sense of power and pride, built through our community, strike out to be the best we can be. And, if at the end of the day we can say, we left it all out there, then we have done all we can do and are happy to sleep, and do it again tomorrow.
So rise today, register if you have not already, and participate. Work hard, post your numbers. Tell stories about the effort and enjoy each other's company. You are not just one of your fellow men (or women) any more. You are a leader, a beacon, a guiding light for all who know you and can see you to follow. You chose to make your life better. You chose to help your friends and family be better.
Make a statement about the human condition through your effort. Now go.
Seriously, where do they get these people ? Especially people who should be old enough to know better. Sweet Baby Gorilla Jeebus, it's just a damn exercise program.

I didn't know that the Master's Division included a senile and dentenia class.

I think it's insulting to people with mental disabilities to compare them to CrossFitters. They usually aren't self-absorbed wankers who have delusions of grandeur, for one...

Nobody brings it like Shoreline...

This past Friday, a group of Shoreline CrossFitters went out in downtown New Haven. While at the bar, a stranger came up to me and said, “Excuse me, but I need to ask you a question. What do all of these people do? You all look so happy and full of life…And everyone in this bar is so beautiful! I have never seen this many beautiful people together in one room!”

I stepped back, and looked at our crew with a different eye~I typically look at our clients only to critique form and ensure that they are moving safely and properly~but this night, I realized that this gentleman was right. This was a congregation of the happiest, healthiest, best looking group of people I had ever seen together at a bar!

The stranger’s parting words to me were, “I don’t know what they are all doing, but I will say that everyone in the world should be doing it too.”

I couldn’t agree more…

On a serious note, I try not to pay any attention to what anyone at Shoreline says or does because it disrupts my serenity and I feel Angry, Sarcastic Gorilla trying to break out. I'd rather focus on the positive, like my friends at affiliates who can actually coach worth a damn.

Although, following on that, I'd like to add this, since I know Shoreline's reading: Get your fucking elbows up! Baby Gorilla Jeebus weeps when he watches you clean and front squat.

Seth Green's classic counter to that of course: "I'm better looking, happier and pull more tail than all those faggots put together -- all I gotta do is stand on a stack of $100s"

It's bad enough when I have to rehabilitate 20-something and 30-something @Fers from the damage they do to themselves.

I think there should be a contest to find an affiliate blog worse than Shoreline's. Shoreline has it all. Stupidity, misspellings, inept trainers, bad form, STDs, and compleeeeete eliteeeetness.

It took me a while to pinpoint exactly what bugs the shit out of me most about this. It isn't the bullshit nature of the ridiculously fabricated story, it is that whoever posted it wouldn't do so unless they actually thought people would believe it sounded plausible. The combination of stupidity and arrogance is, well, just kind of sad.
