pudding looks just like a younger couch.
have you ever been as far as even considered go want to do look more like?

Re: The couch thread
I had the misfortune of being at a CF gym last weekend where everyone was hopping around getting psyched up for the games wad.
Their best athlete did 7 rounds or something which i take it isn't a bad score but all I could tell was it looked like some dude working out. It was boring to watch and it wasn't even remotely athletic.
I go said gym to teach Olympic lifting once a week and of course someone asked me what I thought of this guys "power" snatches. They didn;t seem to understand when I pointed out that the power had completely gone out of the movement and he was basically doing a glorified deadlift and reverse curl.
Then on monday I turn up to work and one of the managers starts raving on about this workout he did on the weekend, turns out it was the same workout and then he complained about his back hurting......
So any word on what the next workout atrocity is for the week?

Shaf can probably relate some funny stories about Budding and Mainpage WOD times hijinks from the early days.

Budding just defended them, it was that Gagliardi dude who posted minutes better times from 1 week to the next and who also added a 40# weigthed vest.
Twight was still in the fold at that time, and basically said the numbers were a big fat lie.

Wasn't there also an issue that some of the split times for the running WODs translated into Olympic and World Record times?Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Budding just defended them, it was that Gagliardi dude who posted minutes better times from 1 week to the next and who also added a 40# weigthed vest.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Yep. Loads of lulz.
Budding was such a dipshit he didn't understand what the person who pointed that out meant.

Fixed for correct grammatical tense. We're talking about the guy who says that 15kg is basically the same as 35lbs, and that the power snatch is basically ground to overhead anyhow.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Yep. Loads of lulz.

Was Gagliardi a real person, or an elaborate troll?
Didn't he claim some ridiculous number on Cindy? Like 30 rounds or some shit like that. You know more than one @fitter strained their vagina chasing those numbers.

It may intuit well that if you can throw a medicine ball 150 times at a heart rate of 165 bpm, then throwing a 16 lb cannonball 20 meters is perhaps manageable.

Re: The couch thread
SS will be tossing close to 70 after doing high rep med ball work? This is what is great about crossfit and I mean this: they make statement after statement that may or may not be true. Then, something golden like this.
I have ten dollars. If Shane can throw the high school weight, 12 pounds, 60 feet (so four pounds less and about six and a half feet shorter), he gets the ten bucks. I am reminded about the time Gregg Tafralis and I were hanging around Skyline College and he was waiting for this "guy" who was bored with lifting and decided to become a shot putter. He was convinced that he could throw 60 the first day with, and I have to admit, impressive gym numbers. He threw well under 50% of Gregg's "do it like this" throws.
I love it when people think they can just spout out things about track and field. Like the guy a few years ago on Xfit telling everyone he was doing 48s and 49s in the 400 meters AFTER doing Front Squats...
Shane: I have ten dollars right here. Go to any high school in America and get the coach to validate it for us. It should only take a few minutes.

Dan, you missed some pretty good sarcasm.
From the same post regarding the outcome of top 11 @Fers vs. "top 11 starting offensive linemen from the Super Bowl" (
) in games of basektball, soccer, water polo, etc.
Shane's answer:
(I think this was up a day or two ago)

Shane's answer:
=D>Probably the Crossfitters because they would find a way to do more work in less time.
Basketball would be "ball through hoop anyhow"
Soccer would be "ball through goal anyhow"
Water polo would be "don't drown anyhow"
etc.

Crossfit's motto should be, SLAP tears and rhabdo anyhow.

Silly gorilla. You seem to be confusing 400m around an oval track with a 400 anyhow.WildGorillaMan wrote:Wasn't there also an issue that some of the split times for the running WODs translated into Olympic and World Record times?Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Budding just defended them, it was that Gagliardi dude who posted minutes better times from 1 week to the next and who also added a 40# weigthed vest.

All I had was the one post to go on. I am ashamed of myself. Shane just has to throw fifty for the ten dollars. I apologize.

I don't know if Shane can throw a 12 pound shot 60 feet but I wouldn't be surprised. The dude isn't a normal human.
