Funny how I've done 100 mile cross country rides (mainly desert with some hills) and had never heard of CF way back in the 80's. 15 minutes and Rob Orlando was exhausted? We used to do much longer stretches of sand and mud riding and tossing in hiill climbs. Wimp.

Re: The couch thread
I know that motox requires a ton of strength and stamina to be able to man handle a 200# bike, but if @fit is claiming to develop world class endurance shouldn't they pick mountain biking and do away with the engine? Let's see how they fare against true world class endurance and stamina.Jezebel Jones wrote:@fit Motocross? SRSLY????

I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

Right. Because crossfitters don't use machines, they make them.Alfred_E._Neuman wrote: but if @fit is claiming to develop world class endurance shouldn't they pick mountain biking and do away with the engine?

Re: The couch thread
Only tangential to the topic, but I used to work with a guy who was a capital H Hardcore cyclist: serious mountain bike racer who was usually a top ten finisher in most local races, and bike commuted to work 300+ days a year.
He also smoked a pack a day or more.
In fact on at least one occasion he filled his Camelbak with cigarette smoke so he could have a drag while he was racing.

I've not been following...since when did @Fit get a Striking Coach Certification?

Re: The couch thread
Probably when they figured out they could market Affliction shirt knockoffs for $200 a pop to the douchebag MMA/fighter wannabe crowd.T200 wrote:I've not been following...since when did @Fit get a Striking Coach Certification?

Some highlights:
http://performancemenu.com/forum/showth ... #post88593
The, the blog with a, with a natural uh … uh … uh, you know, day, with a daily posting, is a, is a wonderful fit biologically uh … uh … uh, evolutionarily I believe, um, socially, culturally, for a normal rhythm and cadence that is at the heart of all things human. You know, the hour is a division of the day, the second a division of the hour, the year multiples of a day. Um, even, even the drama of the change of Seasons pales compared to the drama of the sun rising and setting, you know.
There is a, there is a shared experience and understanding that we have because we posted there and you combine that with, you know, a couple of links, check out the picture, uh, here’s a video to watch, and you know, what, it’s an investment of an hour and on the whole you’ve got community, it brings you to friends and uh, and uh … and I’m made better for it. I mean that’s fundamentally what we’re doing is improving on people.

What a total dick! LOVE ITDairus B Wow you all are a bunch of whining sissies! By the sound of your cry baby complaints Im guessing your like me, a nobody who doesnt have a shot. A real athlete doesnt whine and complain. Where else in the history of sport do you have a chance like this? The road of the first person to do something, like CF is doing here, is always the hardest. It will get better each week. You whinners seem to think that there is no learning curve, quit crying. You dont hear anyone in the top 100 complaining so you should quit crying and model yourself after the true athletes in this competition and enjoy the fact that you are on the same playing field as Miko, Speal, Froning, Annie, and all the other non-sissy real CF athletes. Shut up and let CF learn how to make history. Babies...
