Yes it does. There is a payoff approximately 2/3 into the book.
Still, it's not action packed until the payoff and more of a character study. The next book, "The Girl Who Played With Fire" is more interesting right from the start and keeps up the energy through the whole book. I kind of like the Lisbeth Salander character so I'm ready for the final book of the trilogy, "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest".

I'm hoping to see it tonight. FWIW, it got a great review from Roger Ebert.Shapecharge wrote:What about the movie...anyone seen it? I seriously thought about going.

Saw the movie tonight. I enjoyed it, although the last 30 seconds sort of took things over the top to Hollywood Land. Too slick.
But overall, gritty & well acted & filmed, with multiple views of the heroine's A- cup breasts, some Maytag action, and a Nazi serial killer theory (how original, Nazis as bad guys).

Shit film. Too long. And nothing to give a shit about. Oh yeah, there are Nazis and girl on male rape.
Why is the title: Men Who Hate Women glossed as the apparent nod to noir Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

Since this thread derailed, I am going to keep going with it.
Saw The Girl Who Played with Fire.
Not nearly as shitty as the previous film.
Pluses:
No Nazis.
Relatively Explicit Carpet Munching Scene.
Best Use of a Jumping Knee to the Face in a Swedish Film Ever.
Minuses:
Some Rape. (Gene feel free to move this to the plus column.)
Teutonic Blond Beast with Preternatural Powers.
Almost as Stupid an Ending as the First.
Biggest lulz:
Euro-fag needs to urgently open an envelope he has taken to a cafe(!?). He asks for something to use as a letter open. Europeans . . .
Good Sunday Matinée. The girl who plays the title character is fantastic. Don't know how they will replace her in the Hollywood versions.

I heard that Hollywood is remaking it with Daniel Craig.

Good flick. Rooney Mara is going to play the chick in the new version.
And I must say the rape scenes were tastefully done.

These deserve the Troicasso treatment.

Does it begin with "It was a dark and stormy night" or "I'd love to have dinner with you again"?seeahill wrote:Hey Bucket...

+1, if Troicasso still existed.
