Watching this HBO doc on Oregon's Death With Dignity Act.
It's fucking rough to watch. I know I'd rather die than be a burden but I am a hypocrit and a selfish bastard in the fact that I'd be hard pressed to turn loose of the Amazon. The Amazon had a minor cancer scare a few years ago and I was a rock until we got the all clear and I stood and the parking lot of the clinic holding my wife crying like a bitch.
And the suffering of Cody Curtis is hard to watch.
I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I don't know if this fucker is good but it fucking hurts.

Did not know about this one.
We lost a 16 year old niece last year...she was like a daughter to my wife.
Hard stuff to deal with. At any rate, I may check out this show. I believe we find our greatest strength in our darkest moments.

It's rough to watch and the end is a combination of relief and heartache.
It's going in the same pile as Restrepo and the Horseman as a flick I liked but will probably never watch again.

I was impressed with Cody's husband. He seemed to hold it together pretty damn well.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I watched the last hour on HBO. Our medical system's ability to keep people alive is both a godsend and, at the endgame, a bit of a curse. It leaves us making decisions that were out of our hands for previous history. I'm sorry she had to make the call herself. Heartbreaking.
Don’t believe everything you think.
