Got it for riding in the wee hours before the GA heat gets unbearable in the summer and for commuting in the winter when it's dark in the morning and evening.
I had an older model Jet i-13 halogen headlamp with a 12w spot bulb in it, and this light blows it out of the water. Huge upgrade over every component in my old light. The battery has been upgraded from a 21oz. NiCad to a small Lithium ion unit that's much smaller and weighs maybe 1/4 as much. It can be mounted to the frame or tucked in a jersey pocket with no problem. The light head itself is solid as a rock. Machined from aluminum to act as a heat sink to keep the LED cool. Shoots a bright spot WAAAAYYYYY down the road. Jet claims 720 lumens, and it's as bright as any other claimed 700 lumen light I've seen others use that cost over twice as much.
O got it with a helmet and handlebar mount. They also have a headband for it if you want to use it for hiking or other outdoors stuff at night. It's definitely light enough to wear the lamp on your head with a headband and the battery in a backpack.
All this for under $250. And it's a US owned company making their product in the USA. When I called to talk about the light and place an order, the owner of the company answered the phone. He also threw in an upgraded universal charger that will charge any of their batteries and will take car DC current from a cigarette outlet, and they're in the process of making a solar charger for it.
Solid 5/5 for value. If you need a good lamp with 3+ hours of run time, you could do much worse. And to get anything better will set you back a bare minimum of $500.
