How bout this for a total @fit mind freak...two big-tittied all-ass andro broads, preferrably twins, one doing elevated pushups on the rings, the other doing inverted bodyweight rows on the same rings...it'll look like the spider doing pushups on the mirror gag. WGM make it happen!ThespianDouche wrote:Maybe someone will try this with rings.

I would prefer an elbow spot on a bench, but I like where your heads at.

You can't really blame them since they stole it.

And like most things they steal, they fuck it up.
THat kb was just off the ground, so the lifter only had to bend a little to take the weight off, the weight was around the waist making it much more ab centric and therefore much different than a bench press and he's not doing fucking singles.

Re: The couch thread
They need to get over it and just have a bench press cert and get it into the routine. But it will be some embarrassing numbers so maybe that's why they don't.

I vote for the start of the Couch Thread. Things started off so quiet and calm. It was like an old style Christmas bulb...just shining a bit in the corner. But, with enough gasoline, it ignited. Happily, there has not been a shortage of new fuel in over four years!

Re: The couch thread
I was training today and one of the new trainers at the gym saw me doing Clean and jerks.
Him "We do that at Crossfit. Have you heard of crossfit?"
Me (please don't continue this line of questioning) "yes"
him "Have you ever tried it?"
Me (oh christ, I just want to lift and go home) "yes, for a bit. it really wasn't for me"
Him (being a little smug) "Oh, too hard for you?"
Me (Of fuck you dick) "no, the programming is fucking retarded."
I then proceed to try to verbalize the couch thread and the stupidity of what CF is between C&Js.
He then said "I've never talked to anyone that didn't like CF before (you don't talk to many athletes do you?). I'll have to think about this"
THen I tried to help another CF dude overcome his inability to extend his hips, most likely from doing high rep box jumps.

Re: The couch thread
It still amazes that someone could get away with criticizing the fitness of anyone despite zero evidence of having done anything even remotely athletic, ever. How about Glassman's public challenge to demonstrate deadlifts shirtless with Mike Caviston on April 25, 2009?
Those of you who have contributed substantially to the Couch Thread (the thoughtful critiques and documentation of stupidity – not that I haven’t also enjoyed the crudity and nudity) should reflect on the impact you’ve had. The CF programming is still outrageously bad, but dedicated Main Page followers are going the way of the passenger pigeon. The herds of sheeple are still numerous and hard-core Kool-Aid drinkers still exist, but even on CF’s own forum people openly bash the “WODs” and the CF “methodology” and even mock Glassman. There is good evidence this thread has provided the impetus. Your job isn’t finished, as boxes across the land overflow with idiocy on a daily basis. But we’ve seen the powerful influence you’ve had. So, kudos.

I'm amazed that there still hasn't been a shirtless DL fundraiser and couch actually reneged on a challenge. [/sarcasm]
Important quote from that NYT article from the couch I'd hate to gloss over at this point:
