All I remember from hearing her speak was that despite an 18 year carreer of soccer she had just recently come around to the idea of organizing training based on when the season happens. And a bunch of other stuff about how she was awesome.

Finding me is going to be a bitch. The only thing I like less than people is talking to people. But if you insist on trying to track me down, check the bar area at 9 AM. If you see someone wearing Skins, that’s not me.

If we do meet and you quote my blog, I’ll have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. I’m close to black out when I write most of this shit. When sober, I can’t remember what weight I used on the previous day’s workout. How the fuck would I remember anything I wrote four months ago?

I’ve never laughed at anything I wrote, except the fuck you at the bottom of the form letter.

I fucking love bullet points and I can’t believe no one has ever busted me out for overusing the shit out of them. Bolding text is pretty sweet too.

I don’t follow anyone on Twitter. Why? Because I’m not a fucking follower. Twitter is great for shameless self-promotion, but as someone who loves complete sentences and OMG hates teh Intarweb slang, I seriously can’t understand what the fuck people are saying half the time. So don’t take it personal if I never respond to you.

Another former true believer goes apostate.

http://startingstrength.com/articles/tr ... illian.pdf
The interesting part is that I was told I was “too big”, that I carried “excessive muscle”, and that
I was at a bodyweight that would “slow me down” and interfere with “range of motion” (did I mention
that I was a gymnast?). I was also told to learn kipping pull-ups because my dead-hangs weren’t fast
enough to get the best times possible. At the time, I weighed 146lbs at 13% body fat (almost exactly
where I am now). No matter how good I was as a CrossFitter, I didn’t fit the “ideal” body type. I was
instructed to “Zone” diet on 13 blocks – approximately 1,300 calories a day. Previously, I consumed
roughly 3,000 calories a day and had maintained the same bodyweight for more than five years. As a
result I lost 28 lbs, had 6% body fat and got weak, but I looked like the “ideal” CrossFitter.
I competed in the 2008 CrossFit Games in July underweight and undernourished, and to my
dismay several of the workouts were short and heavy. I still managed to place third after falling from
first place on the final event. The final event was 30 reps for time of a heavy (at the time) clean and
jerk with the requirement of passing through the full squat. I can’t help but to think that had I not
lost nearly a fifth of my body mass over the previous three months, I would have won the games. I
probably didn’t need to be counting my almonds that day, or avoiding the pancakes at breakfast that
were served in the hotel.

Society rewarded me for this very unhealthy body – photographers wanted to shoot me,
manufacturers wanted me to wear their clothes, and supplement companies wanted me to push their
products.

I'm loving the fact that Gillian Mounsey defected from the fold, let's see anyone at HQ try to disparage her. She's an athlete with a shitload of solid accomplishments and flew that koolaid flag for years.... I'm glad she wised up.

There is no excuse for this fence-sitting affiliates that talk out of both sides of their mouth not to do the same, anyone who says, "well the @fit name brings me business so I am not giving up my affiliate" but yet continues to bash @fit is a fucking fraud and a poseur. Leave the fold and be a man.

And canceling classes because of heat is a total bitch move. Soccer moms and old people are tougher than you think.

Wait, Thursday was the day it was too hot to train in Cleveland?

Shit, I wish I would've known that before setting a squat PR that day. In my garage, which is distinctly not climate controlled.
Then again, I'm just a 50 year old fat cripple, not one of the elite. I'm sure it's different for them.

Gilliam Mounsey defected? How do you guys find this shit out ? (edit: I should have read the full link from WGM instead of just the excerpt)

I remember a couple of years ago when I was weaning off the Kool Aid she did at benefit stunt at Long Island City trying 100 muscle ups in under a certain time period that eludes me right now. She made the cut.
But the 2 things that stand out in my mind are;
1. The whole thing was delayed because the Couch got lost on the way from the airport keeping a couple hundred people including honored guests (Marines and FDNY) waiting in uncomfortable conditions. There was an engine and truck company along with battalion hot shots standing around on the sidewalk with rigs blocking traffic for almost an hour.
2. There were 2 sets of rings set up so anyone who wanted to, could go up and do a muscle up with Gillian. The Minister of Disinformation and Censorship, Lynne sPitts made three embarrassingly comical attempts and failed miserably. The inner circle entourage consoled her as if she had just lost a child to cancer. It was a wonderful moment of Schadenfreude. And my last organized @fit event.

Anyone want to start laying odds on how long Freddy has left ?

http://crossfitoneworld.typepad.com/cro ... -snob.html
After about three years of CrossFitting I began to appreciate exercising for what it is: something that should make you happy. Maybe it was CrossFit burnout that made me realize this, or maybe it was the fact that I started to hang out with people that knew a lot more about strength and conditioning than I did. I don't know. I do know that making fun of people for doing something that makes them happy is being a snob. CrossFit isn't for everyone, and for many people, it is definitely something they shouldn't be doing. There is nothing wrong with that.

Unsurprisingly, my good friend Bingo (who, despite everything is okay) felt compelled to defend @fit.

When the day comes that he turns, his bitterness and vitriol will be spectacular.

I saw Freddy a few months ago in a gym where there were many former @fitters and affiliate owners and he was low key about it but I gathered that @fit one world was not owned 100% by him and that being an affilte vs. ex affilate is an issue of both $$ and sentiment. Freddy is a good dude but can only sit on that fence for so long. Eva T. is openly hostile to current CFHQ and is done with all the rah rah. Gillian was a shock and Welbourne will mock couch at length but the $$$ keep him on board. I know that SicFit had plans of forming some alternate thing that would be like @fit but with less suck (Gym Jones) but Even-Esh got pulled deeper in by couch and pudding. The list of "formers" is getting pretty impressive. Dan John, Mark Twight, Robb Wolf, Greg Everett, Rip.... and shit like this isn't helping
http://youtu.be/LGP1xoxyBuE
I go to the beach to have fun and fucking relax. If I was a member of that gym that shit would embarrass me not inspire me. Fucking idiots!

In the end, this bizzaro world stuff keeps my @fit hate pure. Many of the athletes are good people, but HQ is the dregs. A pox on them. Actually an Igx on them.

Say what you will about Rippetoe, but his hatred of Glassman and @fit rivals anyone's on here. Towards the last days of his association, his 2 day certs were non stop tirades about the stupidity of @fit programming and @fitters. He would rant, and Eva T would smile and nod. Not surprised that Gillian went over the edge after spending time with him.

This is a pretty mindless comment. You didn't bother to read any details (she went to work on Oly-stuff, not her squat) and you make some bullshit comment like Rippetoe can't teach the squat. Building some real credibility there pal.
