Holy shit! What a great series of off the wall docs?!
Well worth watching just for the Liberia and North Korea episodes.
Hell I want to take the north Korean tour.

Yeah, the Liberia one was completely fucking insane. That problem should be solved with hand held nuclear flamers.
Re: The Vice Guide To Travel
I bought it, thought it was a waste of money. The ideas of traveling to the places (the Congo, Chernobyl, etc) were cool, but like a nice looking meal with no substance I didn't feel like I got much out of it

VBS has tons of cool shit. They did a miniseries about Black Metal that was great.
I enjoyed Vice Guide to Travel, but it got boring several times throughout the season.

Re: The Vice Guide To Travel
Our one boxing coach from the AL/GA area who I think a few of you know has been in Liberia for about 4 months now, helping to "suppress political violence" as they get into and through their fall election period.
I asked him how accurate the Vice Guide was, and whether it was over-sensationalized, and he said something along the lines of "actually, I am pretty sure they did some editing to avoid too much embarrassment and horror, so there would be no reprisal if they ever came back."
He also added that despite seeing some 'not cool' stuff in the likes of Bosnia and the middle east, the shit he sees there, like people selling "higher-order species" body parts on the black market (though pretty openly) and such is ridiculous.
