Indeed. For a lightweight wrestler, the thought of adding 10# is pretty significant. But damn, 10 pounds of rip...what to do? #Whole 9, #Lean Mass Gain, #LMG, #8 pounds six weeks!!!!11Shafman wrote:For Spealler, 10# quality weight gain is pretty fucking good.
He's highly trained.
He's pretty fucking strong already.
He's got to maintain the conditioning work.

I started to think about this. I recently added 12 pounds to my 190# starting weight. 6.3% added...which keeps me unimpressed as to what he is considering doing.Shafman wrote:Plus, that's like fucking 8% of his bodyweight.
I'm guessing it will be about as beneficial to him @F-wise as Rob Orlando dropping from 220(?) down to his current 185#, see where that got him...
He may have to go to something more than the standard Anavars though, and the six-pack may be less etched afterwards. OH NOEZ!

Percentages aside, you were already big enough to lift significant weight. He is not...and still won't be even with ten pounds. He is better off at being everybody's favorite undersized underdog than a slightly bigger also-ran. And hell, Rob would have been better off taking swim lessons at the Red Cross.Captain Quack wrote:I started to think about this. It's the @F ideal, is it not? He's their bodyweight exercise asskicker, but not big enough to lift weights like the bigger guys.Gin Master wrote:Percentages aside, you were already big enough to lift significant weight. Hence the solution is to add bodyweight...which will bring him closer to mediocre in both bodyweight and barbell exercises. The @F way...search for how to be mediocre in all modal domains.
Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...exact same as Orlando, just the opposite direction.

Exactly, and I wonder how his running will suffer with all this emphasis on strength and increased bodyweight. I think he was a fast runner back when he first started CF (there was a great vid of him doing 4x400m + 50 squats in a fast time), though I haven't seen anything that leads me to think he's gotten any better or even maintained that speed on that front.Captain Quack wrote:It's the @F ideal, is it not? Winning a trail run at the Games means nothing because it's not a standard distance or terrain. All it means is that you're faster than other CFers.
Let's see them put a 1 mile run on a certified track at the Games and see who really is a good runner. They'll never do that.

Let's see you put your "elite" runner in the Games and see how far he throws a softball, BITCH.

Wow, thanks Couch.Couch wrote:What we're finding is that, across the board, good nutrition, good exercise, improved lifestyle choices make everything that's critical to your well-being better.
In the end, Couch's contribution to this whole thing will be the idea of the fitness community--and it is significant. The community trumps knowledge, coaching ability, and client results. Any aspiring gym owner should focus on building community, running a business, and cooperative marketing. Knowledge and ability are a distant second.
