Firefox v. Chrome
Just dumped Firefox after using it since it was beta. I find it's running slow and skipping video, hangs on gmail or google docs, often chews up well over a gig of RAM, etc. I suspect Google is doing this deliberately to get people to migrate to Chrome, but I did and everything runs much, much faster with fewer resources.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Firefox has gotten bloated and slow. Early versions were lighting fast on my aged XP machine.
Re: Firefox v. Chrome
I actually prefer Opera to both of them. It's really stable and fast.
If you need plugins and addons, there aren't a whole lot for Opera, but for just basic use and watching pr0n, Opera's the best I've used lately.

Chrome evidently uses a vast amount of cache memory, so be aware of that. I agree it's much better than Firefox lately.

Re: Firefox v. Chrome
I'm upgrading soon. I can run Chrome, or iTunes, but not both. And about 4 open tabs in Chrome.

The tinfoil hat wearers may also point out that Google's browser may collect more of your info to give to Google. I don't know that I'd worry about it, but if that kind of thing pisses you off, you may want to choose something else.
I had a so-so run with Chrome myself.

I'm a Chrome user. One of the tipping points for me was that I was able to get it to work with military CAC cards.
