Yukon GHD

Post by KingSchmaltzBagelHour »

I have always wanted a GHD for home, but they're expensive as all hell. I saw the yukon for $269 online.
My instincts tell me that you get what you pay for and that it would fall apart quickly.
Anyone have any first hand experience with this brand or any advice to buy or stay away?
Thanks.

I have one. It isn't the most comfortable to do GHR on but it works. It also developed a wobble after a little while and isn't easy to adjust. But I'm the only one using it so it doesn't get adjusted. FWIW I weigh between 175 and 190 and I'm 5'9".

I have one as well. I'm small, especially compared to the blockier humans on this board. I wouldn't put Shaf on it, but Tom Furman would be fine..

If you don't want to spend $1k+ it's okay.

I bought 3 on Craigslist a couple years ago and re-sold them.

Definitely not worth the full-price but at less than $150 they are an alright deal.

I seem to recall getting quite a few nut crunches in on the one I used.

Haha, yeah the nut crunches are a surprise. If I haven't used it for a couple weeks, it's not good. I don't know how I forgot about that.

Split pads on GHDs are pretty much priceless imo.

This.

I've got the Yukon and after adding a bigger footplate (a necessity), it does what it's supposed to and can't be beat for the price.
