A 15-year-old high school student is recovering after being bitten by a police dog that somehow got out of a patrol vehicle.

The dog's handler and two other officers were putting on a gun safety presentation at Nogales High School in Arizona on Thursday when the dog got out, police Capt. Heriberto Zuniga told the Nogales International.

Students suddenly ran into the classroom to tell them the dog was on the loose........


She had bites to the arms and scratches on the lower back, but both Zuniga and Principal Judith Mendoza-Jimenez said the teen was 'OK.'

'We were extremely lucky. The dog is trained to bite and pull,' he said.

John Bujak's story took yet another turn Tuesday when the former Canyon County prosecutor was arrested on a $236,000 embezzlement charge.

The funds, according to an affidavit filed in 3rd District Court, came from a trust account Bujak used to deposit money from the city of Nampa for non-felony prosecution services performed by the county. The money the state charged Bujak with taking should have gone to the county.

Law enforcement officers arrested Bujak on two counts of felony grand theft charges, one by embezzlement and one by deception, at the completion of a hearing in Bujak's divorce case at the Canyon County Courthouse

This beating was a product of the old Coroner's Inquest process that the police union is suing to protect: two years ago Colling killed 15 year old Tanner Chamberlain within seconds after his arrival at a run-of-the-mill domestic violence scene. Every other Metro officer tried to de-escalate that situation. Instead firing this arrogant creep the next day, Metro, the DA, the police union, and the kangaroo kourt assembled by the Coroner (because that's his job) all circled the wagons to rule "justifiable homicide". They empowered him to beat the photographer. The circle was completed by media indifference and the reelection of both the Sheriff and DA in 2010 AFTER the Tanner homicide. The whole debacle does shine a light on the 2 dramatically different systems of justice and media treatment we have in Las Vegas: one for public officials and a very different system for us commoners.

The former police officer admitted to filing a false police report in September of last year, telling investigators a man shot him. He then changed his story, saying a woman he was involved with was responsible for shooting him. It wasn't until he was arrested that Benjamin told investigators he shot himself.

Benjamin also pled guilty to giving a 17-year-old girl a handgun and hiring a hit-man to kill her boyfriend.

Friday he faced two new charges in court. For months, Benjamin bought and had Xanax delivered to that same 17-year-old girl he was seeing. Just two days before he shot himself in September, Benjamin was involved in having the home where the 17-year-old girl lived, shot up.
