Re: Homeland
Fucking crazy!! The mole has to be someone we've already been introduced to. My vote is on the young MUSLIM ARABIC SPEAKER.
Re: Homeland
That's who I was thinking too. I wouldn't be shocked if it was Estes though, the poor man's Dennis Haysbert Deputy Director of the CIA.
Doubt it's Saul, just because it's too obvious with the blip on the lie detector. Right?

Re: Homeland
Damn, I forgot about that. And he wants to be with his wife in India. But he seems so focused and dedicated...could he do something that duplicitous?
Re: Homeland
I still have this feeling that there is a massive bomb that's about to drop. No pun intended.
I'm still waiting to see who else in the Saudis may be playing a role. That blonde girl who'd been a concubine is a distant memory at this point, but how crazy would it be to find out some other diplomat was involved..

Re: Homeland
Random thoughts about this episode:
A black guy dressed like a hobo carrying a brief case. C'mon, talk about sticking out like a sore thumb.
Very realistic shot of Carrie folding in half and being thrown back. Not that I've ever seen a live bomb blast.
A trained CIA agent (Carrie) with her whiplash head turns and fidgeting at a stakeout. For fucks sake, I could do a better job than that.
Morena Baccarin is extremely lovely.

Re: Homeland
Black guy = total trap by other black guy terrorist. Knew they'd all run and try and drop him. Get 'em inside the blast radius yo. At least, I think that's the reason.
Carrie got f'd up. Pretty cool how they did that, but I too have never seen someone get blown back by a bomb.
I commented on that when watching too. She's freaking the fuck out in the park, and nobody thought that may tip someone off?
I love Morena Baccarin. I thought she was great on Firefly. Yes, I just said I watched Firefly. I even own Serenity on DVD motherfuckers.

Re: Homeland
Brody's wife is hot no doubt but if given the opportunity I'd drop a load in Carrie before I would her. I dig smart, rowdy, fucked up chicks.
Re: Homeland
Seriously. I thought Claire Danes was okay before the show.
She's so fucking psychotic and unbalanced though. I think she's insanely hot now.

Re: Homeland
Mind is blown to the power of 10. I don't even know where to start...a suicide vest? Carrie's bi-polar issue out in the open and her complete meltdown? There was so much going on I actually had a queasy stomach. So the wife looks on the internet...there's going to be a second season. I ask you, what the fuck are they going to do in the next season that can match this one?

This and Boardwalk Empire were fucking nuts tonight.

Re: Homeland
I'm four behind on Boardwalk I think...I've got to get caught up. Have not looked in the Boardwalk thread since I don't want to fuck up my mojo.
Re: Homeland
Shape,
Seriously. I rarely feel uncomfortable when watching a simple TV show, but holy hell. I thought Claire Danes did her best job yet on an episode last night. Where was Mandy's character when the Poor Man's Dennis Haysbert came in to take her down?
And Brody's got a suicide vest? What? I can't wait for Season 2 and I don't even know how Season 1 ends.
Spells,
Boardwalk was indeed awesome. I felt let down last week, but last night made up for it.
Shape,
Catch up on Boardwalk.

Re: Homeland
She's got to get an emmy nomination for that performance alone. That meltdown was pure genius acting. I was rapping today with someone who has a bi-polar son and I was telling him about the episode and he just smiled and said, everyday brother. The meds don't always work as well as you'd think.
Re: Homeland
Yikes. I knew a kid who was bipolar and he'd do random shit out of nowhere. We thought he was just a crazy kid, but by our senior year, I guess he was fully off. He would do some really random shit.

Re: Homeland
Well fuck...I sorta wanted him to crank that vest off. They gave it away in the trailer last week though...there was a cut scene where he met with Walker so you had to know he didn't do it. Kinda sad to see Walker get capped since he was supremely efficient. More left unanswered than answered. I give the season finale a grade of B+. I think Saul may be my favorite character.
Re: Homeland
I found it very good. The one plot hole I didn't like was how his daughter somehow got through to him. Like nobody else in that room had family members who would know how to get through? Or that the Secret Service would just let someone saying they were his daughter reach him in that room?
Otherwise though, I thought it was a pretty freaking good episode and I'm pumped for next year. It's going to be interesting to see how he balances what seems to be a pull from his family to be what and who he appears to be, and the dune coon side that wants him to fuck the country.
I'll miss Morena Baccarin.

Re: Homeland
Agree on the phone call for sure. The daughter's character is thoughfully done as well. How many 16 year old teenaged girls are shown demonstrating such thoughful concern for their father. Still haven't caught up on Boardwalk...must do so now.
Re: Homeland
I've been holding off on posting about Boardwalk to wait for you to catch up.
re: his daughter,
Agreed. I didn't like her at first, but it seemed like she just "got" her dad. I pray though, that if I ever have kids (don't really want to), that I don't have a daughter. I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Yeah, that killed the suspense. Annoying.Shapecharge wrote:Well fuck...I sorta wanted him to crank that vest off. They gave it away in the trailer last week though...there was a cut scene where he met with Walker so you had to know he didn't do it.

Re: Homeland
Finally saw it. There were some good scenes. I really thought Saul was the mole when he told the gooks to stop Carrie. There were a few stretches of the imagination, like the phone call from the daughter, that could have been better thought out.
Speaking of the daughter, she should have worked out that there was something fishy while she was talking to him. It was like 'oh fuck, you really are up to no good but I just managed to talk you out of it'. That alone should have set alarm bells off in her head as well as the fact that she never did find out what was in the parcel.
This episode was not bad but I felt like they were just looking for an excuse to have a season 2. The last few episodes were much better IMO:

Re: Homeland
Yeah, I was really kind of surprised given how high the quality was. It wasn't like I didn't enjoy the episode, but I would rank it a solid 7, while most of the season was near a 9 out of 10 for me.

Re: Homeland
Just downloaded & marathoned the season. Claire Danes fucking DESTROYS! Glad to know I'm not the only one who was hoping for Brody to go through with the suicide bombing. I REALLY wanted to see a room full of people turned into pink jelly. I can't imagine how a second season could happen.
