Re: Tebow has come down from the mount
The last time a white Bronco got this much attention OJ was riding in the back seat.
Take care and please.....................stay safe.

If you want good on paper, get Ryan Leaf or Akili Smith. At some point you have to wad up the scouting reports and look at the one stat that matters. The scary thing about guys like that is you don't know what makes them winners in the first place, so you don't know how long they're going to have "it."BucketHead wrote:To be fair, Gin, he is a terribly inconsistent passer with an enormous wind up time. That is what every critic jumps on. However, he sure seems to loosen up and get much more accurate as the game progresses.
However, those same analysts have each probably said a thousand times that good December teams have a strong running game and good defense and special teams. That the Broncos have in spades. Tebow, McGahee, and Royal are running very well behind probably the best O-line in the AFC. Von Miller and Dumervil are freaking beasts and the secondary is geriatrically holding their own. If it was any other quarterback, analysts would nod their heads on why we're now 8-5 after starting 1-4.

I'd rather party with Ryan Leaf than Tebow.

If the Tebows beat the Pats this Sunday, I will be a believer.
Of course, I have to watch Green Bay, but it'll work out because you only have to watch the last 10 minutes of a Bronco game.

This is why you have to go beyond the traditional metrics. I don't know why only baseball seems to have a huge community around this (which then turned into wins on the field), there's a little bit of it in basketball but few people drive their organizations by it, but, anyway...Gin Master wrote: If you want good on paper, get Ryan Leaf or Akili Smith. That's because the NBA is rigged.tzg wrote:This is why you have to go beyond the traditional metrics. Not to worry. Mendenhall is done for the year and Ben has a bum ankle. Broco's D should be able to keep the game close. If the chosen one can make a couple of big plays, Denver would easily win the game.BucketHead wrote:

Re: Tebow has come down from the mount
Talk about a tempest in a teapot...(or much ado about nothing.)
For every Tim Tebow in the spotlight, there are 1000 devoutly religious, hardworking athletes who simply haven't got the ability or the breaks to get where he's got (or simply lose a lot), and no one cares about them in the least.
The guy's an enormously talented athlete on a hot streak, is all. If he was losing all the time (or didn't have the talent and teamwork backing him up to make his efforts on the field successful), people wouldn't give a shit how religious he was or whether he gave tribute to Jesus or Jupiter. If he wants to thank God after each touchdown (or whatever), so what? Two or three years from now, when his streak is over and he's just another QB, he may not be so sanguine. That's up to him.

Other religious athletes don't pull TV ratings like Tebow does. NFL has gotta be pissed that Fox decided to phone the game in like that.Abandoned by Wolves wrote:Talk about a tempest in a teapot...(or much ado about nothing.)

Amen.Gin Master wrote:I don't understand this. Is it because he's overtly religious instead of running dog fights or talking about capping niggaz? Every week people say Tebow is not an NFL quarterback, and every week he keeps winning. It's nice to see that unshakable faith in your and your teammates' abilities to win a ballgame. He's already built one hospital and is about to build another. There are a lot of things that irritate me right now, but a dude like that isn't one of them.Sandman wrote:Lot of Tebow hate these days. All the Tebow haters cannot seem to explain how he keeps winning games. I don't care about his religion, I don't care who he is or isn't fucking. He keeps winning games. Like Al said "Just win baby!" I'm not a broncos fan at all but I wish Tebow was winning games for the Raiders.

The NFL draft is about how sexy prospects look when they take their shirts off in front of the old men who scout them and what kind of numbers go on the Excel sheet from the combine. Case Keenum, Kellen Moore and Russell Wilson aren't going to be in the top 10 qbs picked this year for no reason other than none of them are 6'5".tzg wrote:This is why you have to go beyond the traditional metrics. The NBA drafts for "potential". A guy goes to three schools in grade 12 then plays a season for Kentucky and he's a top pick - somebody plays five years under Coach K and he falls to later rounds.

Shape, can you take Tebow camping and I'll pay you $500K
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/04/24/ ... tim-tebow/Well, controversial website AshleyMadison.com apparently wants to challenge one of Tebow’s core beliefs. They’re offering up big money to any woman who can prove she [sic?] has slept with the NFL sensation.

I may need some help. Although I think I'm still a pretty good scrapper, his youth, size, strength, and speed may be too much for me unless I have an equalizer. I might have to dart him. I'll look into this but I don't think this is what ashleymadison.com had in mind.
