Took this for a ride today...
Went to my favorite bike shop today and took the Ducati Diavel out for a nice long ride. This is an awesome bike. I am having a real itch to get a different bike.

Nice! I just watched a special on their factory. They have a classified area strictly for racing development

Stinging and dickens are not necessarily drawbacks.

Yeah, I know BD, I've had two Ducs. Maintenance intervals have gotten better. I'm gonna get seriously raped trying to sell my Harley.

true...the sturdier valve train and fuel injection help. i'm thinking of getting out of liter bikes due to tires and chains, maybe get a big twin or even a DS single for a while.Shapecharge wrote:Yeah, I know BD, I've had two Ducs. Re: Took this for a ride today...
I went up to that particular shop because they sell BMW's too and I had been jonesin' for either the GS1200 Adventure or the new 1600GT. After climbing around on both of them I was not wowed. That Adventure is so fucking tall...I'm 6' but was on my tippytoes on that fucker. You know there's an embarrassing tipover waiting to happen. The sales guy I've bought 4 bikes from over the years said he hears all the time how guys want to ride that bike to Alaska or South America but never leave the city. I'm done thinking about it. I didn't ride the 1600 GT either...sorta same but slightly different than the Ultra Classic I'm riding now. Didn't even think about that Duc but after I rode it I'm sure thinking about it now. I'm really missing some speed.
