16 Years Ago Today

Post by Fat Cat »

16 years ago today the longest siege in modern warfare was finally broken after 5 long years. I won't go into the politics but if you feel like taking a look, this is the same thing people in Syria and elsewhere are enduring today.

Grim stuff. Liveleak has been a disturbing eye-opener for me.

Some horrible shit for sure.

So what do you think we should do, if anything?

Time to go into Syria was as soon as the Iraqi Army was defeated, as it's the Bathist hole Saddam sent his WMD's to. You might not beleive that but I overheard someone in the Intel bizz talking to Jim before the Iraq invassion saying there were lines of trucks going into Syria. As per your earlier staement about what goes on most never know about.
This is would be of our intrest and we did not do it so I see no point in getting involved in this shit with the way Libs here and Euro trash shit all over us for using force.
Let the other Arab countries do something about it if they can.

Hey you know me, I'm all for Military action to impose our will or to stop sick shit IF our guys are not made to pussy foot and the Left gets told to shut up and get fucked about crying when the pics come back of our guys fighting under Total war doctrine, leveling any building where so much as a spit wad is lobbed at our guys. But we have seemed to lose our Balls so that aint going to happen. Maybe the Press would tone it down because they have Obama's cum dripping from their lips but can't count on it.

Too bad because it is pretty fucking sick some of the film I've seen of this shit. Fucking Snipers shooting children. It's one thing to kill children as collaterals (Unitentional) if some dirtheads are shooting at you so you return fire, level the place and then find some little bodies inside by the asshole's who were shooting at you. Or if you just decide it's better for your side to carpet bomb an area but it's another to sight down a scope at a little boy runing and pull the trigger. Fucking sick but so is the World and we better get ready to get real fucking brutal one day as you damn well know that fights can come down to survival of the sickest. Combatant A is trying to win clean while Combatant B is all about the kill, unless A is a Badass of great magnatude B will allways win.

This I think is going to get even worse and I think the World might get a lesson in what happend to Saddam's chemical weapons when Assad starts to gas people. That fucker is in this to the death, his or his enemies.

Personally, I do not see a compelling US national interest in intervening in Syria militarily and our recent history in the region works against us. That said, Syria was historically in the French sphere of influence and they have the bones to strike at the Assad regime, particularly with our logistical support.

But it's a fucked up situation. Assad and his regime are Alawites who have forged a careful balance between the Sunni majority and the Shiite, Druze, Bedouin, Turkoman, and Maronite Christian minorities. To topple Assad means the Sunnis will run the show and everyone else will get smashed. The last thing we want is a Somalia on the Mediterranean, and it's quite possible given the long connection between the Shiites of Syria, Iran, and now Iraq.

Your last paragraph highlights why one day we might have to cleanse that area of it's population via ICBMs.
This is why it started pissing me off as soon as our guys were made to play Nam games. Pussy footing just ensures a future war of annihlation.

They think like tribes and act like tribes, I say we treat them like we did the Tribes here if we are going to keep being involved with these peoples.

It be great if we would stop buying oil from that part of the World, push Nuclear power in the US beyond the levels used in France, like say 80-90% of electrical generation. Then we won't need anything from there, let Europe deal with them and park a few Satilites with MERVs on them right over the area in case some weirdo get's nukes and ICBMS over there one day and trys to make himself the new Saladin.

As the song says, FUCK THE MIDDLE EAST!
