You equivocating coward. you really don't know the first thing about the attorney client relationship. Further...they LOST becuase the judgment says they lost...You were the one who brought up legal and moral in the same context.Turdacious wrote:No, I pity them for hiring unscrupulous lawyers that put their own profit above the best interest of the client.Blaidd Drwg wrote:How about Percy Schmeiser? You laugh at the farmers that brought a lawsuit against Monsanto for potential crop contamination, Monsanto lost in their attempt at the reverse. Suing Percy for IP infringement when they contaminated his crops. Preemptive litigation is a good tactic, it's also evil.
And whether or not Monsanto really lost in the Schmeiser case is unknown-- if the bad publicity damaged their business, and fewer farmers bought Monsanto products in that area-- they lost. If neither of those happened, they won.
Hope you're looking at this Fatty-- BD actually mentioned something substantial.

Stop it Mr. 'I got my degree in paralegal studies from the school Sally talked about'. Nobody is defending Monsanto here. I could care less whether or not Monsanto loses lawsuits-- they have attorneys on retainer and play a different ballgame. Organic farmers have to hire attorneys and pay for them-- it's not a regular business expense for them.Blaidd Drwg wrote:You equivocating coward. you really don't know the first thing about the attorney client relationship.Turdacious wrote:No, I pity them for hiring unscrupulous lawyers that put their own profit above the best interest of the client.Blaidd Drwg wrote:How about Percy Schmeiser? Show me the precedent for what the farmers are trying to do, and then I will be happy to change my mind-- I don't think it exists though.

That is something I will have to find out. Next few yars i am going to be learning an awefull lot, I have not had a garden other than some tomato plants since i was a little boy in Upstate NY.Terry B. wrote:How much land would you need to be able to make a run at using food produced on it for a good percentage of your meals?DARTH wrote:Going to be killing more deer in the future and we will be tilling a spot in the back yard for a garden. I want commercial food down to a low amount for my family for health and ethical reasons.
The woma's grandparents also have huge garden in Fort Valley, like Grandaddy has to use a John Deere tractor to till it. He is the person I will be asking the most about this stuff. He's been growing food since he was a child in the Depression and is one smart guy.
I doubt we will be more than 50% non store dependent for food where we currently live (factoring everything from veggies, fruits and meat) but we still plan on going more towards or even to Forth Valley in the next 2-4 years, then I could get to 80-90% and increase to 100% if thinks get shitty.
