That's probably why she went to a lower weight class.

She popped off about the 135 belt and Miesha months ago, before Cyborg got busted. With Cyborg gone, 145 is dead.

Hey, if she doesn't care that she snapped someone's arm...so much for martial arts developing or revealing character. Of course, after 25 years in the game, I already knew this. I just don't like being reminded of it.
I hate it when that shit happens, too. But there is a little background here. Two fights ago, Rousey had Sarah D'Alelio's arm locked up. Sarah made a sound, Rousey got the ref's attention to say D'Alelio was submitting, and the ref called the fight for a submission. Afterward, D'Alelio said it wasn't really a submission, that the fight was called too early, etc. It forced her hand a bit. The next fight, Julia Budd tried to roll twice after getting caught. The arm was already dislocated coming out of the second roll, but she didn't tap in time.

As for Miesha Tate:
http://www.mma-core.com/videos/fights/M ... e/10027196

Rousey has an arm bar at 4:28 (legit, deep)
The arm is dislocated at 4:32
Tate bridges and turns away; refuses to tap
Arm gets mangled at 4:40

That escape Meisha attempted is notorious as an armbreaker.

It's a fight and Meisha knew the risks. I'd never hurt a training partner on purpose but I'd break shit off and take it home in a fight if they don't want to tap.

Nobody pulls their punches, but they expect us to pull our subs. If you want to get into a fight with a submission specialist, you should know what you are dealing with and behave accordingly.

Word. It pisses me off when people get upset that someone busts an arm if their opponent doesn't tap.

I always looked at a fight that I would hit someone as hard as I could, as often as I could, and if they dropped, fine.

Same with a sub fighter. Lock it as tight and as uncomfortable as possible. No tap, snap. Tap, hopefully no snap. It's a problem for the fighter who doesn't tap in time, with the exception of rare instances like Aoki snapping Keith Wisniewski's arm on what looked like a goofy arm drag of some sort.

Was a wakigatame, a classic standing armbar from judo and GJJ. I learned it from Aoki himself.

The take-away here is that women are as stubborn when being submitted as they are about everything else. If I was the Strikeforce promoter, I'd fine the shit out of Tate and everybody else who had to miss a year because they were too stupid to know when they were done. Same with sponsors. The lawyers for these guys need to get smart and put "stupidity" clauses in endorsement and fight contracts.

I don't have a problem with arms getting snapped...I have a problem with women acting and talking all hard about it in a sport where the douchebag factor is already turned up to 11. That was my point.

Oh well, there's always HGTV, and Lifetime network...

I liked her latest take-down of Miesha Tate's goofball boyfriend who said he wanted to knock Ronda's teeth down her throat.

Actually, she apparently started it in one of her pre-fight shit talking sprees by saying she could beat Tate's boyfriend, a pro 155'er. He tried to laugh it off until people kept goading him saying she could beat him, then he said in reality he would knock her teeth out.

Typical inscrutable Jappo, so I couldn't say. He did some seminars here because he is an old Judo buddy of one of our black belts.

Fats...I thought you were on record as saying you hated that cat-faced motherfucker...or, something to that effect.

I could be mistaken, and you have every right to change your opinion on someone.

Rhonda like most of the higher ups in USA and world judo are completely worthless people.

Like most mouthy cunts, she's managed to marry well and divorce even better.

I totally get what you're saying here. The Japanese side of my Dad's family are like that. Tough to tell what they're thinking but I get the feeling they're not overly excited about their fairly white looking cousin (me).

This thread hasn't changed my opinion on watching women fight.
