Impulse purchase

Post by Shapecharge »

I had some Jameson last week for the first time and although I had no expectations I enjoyed it. I was at the liquor store today to pick up a few things for a party and snatched up a bottle of 18 year old Limited Reserve. I'm sampling it right now. Marvelous. It's going to be my new fav for awhile.

Jameson's is fine, but Tullamore Dew is a must try since you enjoyed the J.

Jameson is the Irish coffee spirit of choice in every Irish coffee I've ever had.

They've changed the branding a couple times, and it's name is different in the U.S. vs Ireland, but the Jameson Gold label was pretty awesome.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Try to grasp the crazieness that is Texas. We've got this conservative religious mindset going on here that subtly guides decision making especially relative to vices. It's difficult if not impossible to open a bar in most cities...most alcohol sales are tied to food sales...some as high as 75 percent of sales must come from food. It's done this way simply because of the negative connotation associated with bars, the elements that frequent such establishments etc. And when it comes to opening an actual liquor store...fuck, nearly impossible if not outright prohibited. For nearly 20 years I would have to drive 15 miles to the nearest liquor store and prices were outrageous. Now with the economy the way it is, cities loosened up a bit...citizens petitioned and got referendum items placed on local ballots to allow package sales within their borders. Now there's a few liquor stores nearby. The competition has greatly affected prices. So I was told of a new store within a few miles of where I live so I drove over there on Saturday. I walked in and it was a fucking grocery store full of booze. To some of you this is no big deal. Like in Cali where you can pick up a loaf of bread, a gallon of milk and a handle of Crown all at the same place. I've not had any experience with that. So I knew I wanted to buy some Jameson and I'm walking down this isle and there 30 different varieties of Irish whiskey, with different ages. I'm a reasonably educated cat but I was unprepared and so the impulse purchases. I have no issues with paying a hundy for a bottle of booze but I will bitch about the price of socks. That's how I roll up in herah.

Oh ..I only mention Bushmills as a small stab at the Catholics . My people come from the north.I dont actually drink the shit. Also, to add levity to the statement,I study Buddha....In the grand state of Illinios . ...you can buy Booze round the clock .Wrap your head around that Tejas.I will say this though, Texas has some truly interesting practices that baffle me . You can bring your own bottle and they sell ya the cups and mixers? Bizzare.

Most of the BYOB (bring your own booze/bottle) restaurants don't do anything...charging for the cups/mixers is primarily a strip club practice. Oh, and that's another wacked out example...you can have an all nude club but no booze so you bring your own or you may be able to walk outside to a bus that has booze on it, slam a few then get back to the ladies. You can also go to places down here where the ladies don't dance but they'll try on sexy undergarments and then take them off for you...no stage, no music. The BYOB is actually pretty cool. We'll go to a nice Italian place and take our own wine...it's amazing how reasonable a meal costs when there's no booze on the tab.
