Come on, Ed!

I don't excuse stupid managers who know it all, play it safe, won't listen to anyone and ultimately fuck the company. I'm not into ripping off hourly people, either. If you want a forty hour week, fine. If you don't want to step up and do what needs doing then accept what you get.

Just because you're an hourly person doesn't make you into some sort of sanctified child person who needs protected from the Capitalist exploiters. That shit is so fucking 1920s, man!

Here's a quote that really pisses me off.....

"Saving Good Jobs: Fighting Lean Production and Outsourcing"

I think Outsourcing sucks and I don't like it where I work. I give my colleagues offshore support but in this case I just do what is asked of me. I don't volunteer shit. Why the fuck should I cut my own throat?

Mingling the shitty idea of Outsourcing with a good idea like Lean Manufacture is a typical Union rhetorical trick, mixing the good and bad to confuse people into agreeing with their stupid assed shit.

Lean isn't about ripping off working people. The idea is to reduce the amount of things done in the production process that you cannot make money upon. You don't work any harder with Lean. You work easier. You get more shit done that customers will pay you to do.

How the fuck can making more money for your employer be a bad thing?

Unions hate Lean because it opposes "work rules". Unions are a Big Business. They like Work Rules because it puts more mouths on the payroll, letting them rake in more dues. Going Lean means that people work where and when needed, which means that Unions don't have as many mouths on the payroll. Jackoffs think it's still 1950.

Customers, Ed, don't pay for more mouths on the payroll. They want shit at a good value. If it's applied right Lean can do this for a company.

The biggest waste in a company is ignoring people who make shit. Lean forces managers and engineering to listen to working people. You get better shit at a better cost. Working people get to profit from their own brain power. They get respect, prestige and even awards.

Unions ought to be representing working people. They ought to be training kids, doing apprenticeship programs for skilled trades and other shit that makes people more valuable. Putting some of their political capital to work getting a Federal apprenticeship program would do more for unions than "Card check". I work with European trained Apprentices - they are scary smart sharp people. America could use a few million of them.

Giving dues money to Hillary Clinton and Obama to raise everyone's taxes, impose Card Check, ram abortion, gun control and other Liberal bullshit down our throats doesn't do dick for a working person.

Unions are in it for themselves. It's about the six figure incomes of Union Officers, their politician friends and then maybe after that actually helping working people.

When Unions get their mind back on helping working people instead of helping themselves they'll do well again. Maybe we'll all make better wages when these bozos quit "struggling" for power and start struggling for working people.

Instead of mandating a "living wage" we'll either get a decent wage or the fucking companies will get fucked by competition who will pay better wages.

Blah blah blah.

LOL

You had to respond twice to a simple statement? Did I strike a nerve. I was busting your balls. But once again you and the majority here show your ignorance in regards to private sector union employees. The UAW does not represent the majority.

I'll confess I didn't read your whole post because you're insulting.

Have a nice day.

LOL the last thing they need is western style socialism. An even bigger laugh is the belief the Chicoms are engaged in anything approaching unbridled capitalism.

Good vibes, wishful thinking, unions and government mandates are hardly the answer to China's poverty problem. China's would have a lower poverty rate if it actually practiced unbridled capitalism, instead of the half baked national socialism it practices now.

I was once a "private sector Union employee", Ed. IBEW, local 29. I worked in a shop alongside the USW people, almost got into the Teamsters.

Yeah, what the fuck would I know about private sector unions.... or manufacturing. Just been through several Lean training sessions and worked in a Lean shop.

Stupid Unions and their Featherbedding tactics.

I never argued for western style socialism, I said collective bargaining would be a good first step towards livable working conditions and wages. As for the "unbridled capitalism" that was a poor choice of words, as they are really more mercantilist, but it could be said that a certain sector of the PRC economy has pursued foreign capital without the bridle of worker protections they would have to admit to in a free society. But the larger issue is your faith in the mythical market to solve all problems, which is near religious and ridiculous. Nothing is perfect.

We voted THEM down, Turd.

You better get back to work - half of America doesn't pay taxes and thus depends upon the fruits of your labor.

Apple's factories in China are employing tens of thousands of students, some of them on forced internships, according to campaigners lobbying for better labour conditions at Foxconn plants, which assemble iPhones. Some students could be as young as 16.
