Junior Seau RIP

Post by Jonny Canuck »

Junior Seau Dead

Former NFL player Junior Seau has died in a shooting at his home, according to reports by TMZ, 10News, the San Diego Union-Tribune and various media outlets.

Harry Levin of TMZ initially tweeted that police were are at the home of the 12-time Pro Bowl player, who starred with the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots during 20 seasons in the NFL.

According to 10News.com, a witness reported hearing a gunshot at Seau's home in the Oceanside neighborhood of San Diego on Wednesday morning. That report could not immediately be confirmed by the news outlet, who described the situation at Seau's home as including a "large presence" of police.

Shortly after Levin's tweet, TMZ Sports cited a law enforcement source saying that Seau had died. TMZ was initially unable to confirm this report but they soon obtained a confirmation.

they will probably start with concussions until the autopsy is released. Was Junior a big fan of alcohol, painkillers etc?

Also, he shot himself in the chest. This can't be normal. Do you think he wanted his brain saved so it could be studied?

He probably smoked weed. Suicidal ideation and being a great footballer are known side-effects of the dope.....

That is what Dave Duerson did. He committed suicide last year. He was a former NFL player as well.

And specifically said he was shooting himself in the chest so his brain could be studied (for the effects of repeated concussions).

Junior Seau, Derrick Thomas, Reggie White, Sam Mills, I'm sure I'm omitting a couple two, some of the premier defensive players of the 90s all gone now. Very sadd.

I've worked the door at a couple bars in North County SD for a few years and Jr would come in every once in a while, last time being about a month ago. I never really talked to him but he seemed like a chill guy.

He's a San Diego icon and will be missed.

He and his family used to play ball at Buccaneer Beach. He and the guys from Samoan Security. Jr's sister is as big or bigger than he is.

He drive his car off a cliff a year or so back - said that he fell asleep, which is certainly possible though probably will be looked at again.
