The heat isn't the problem here in the South. The damn humidity makes it so there is no evaporation taking place so you merely keep sweating with no cooling effect. Imagine walking through 100° jello and you have a typical day in the South.

This is no shit. There's been 3 incidences of niggers shooting each other withing 1/2 mile of my house in the last month.

There's a part of our general neighborhood called Midway Woods. It's a little subdivision that's got 2 kinds of houses - old as hell small originals occupied by ancient people who have been there forever, and new McMansion in-fills worth $500k+. A fair number of the original houses are owned by undesirables. Usually a little old lady. Apparently two such houses face each other across the street, and grandbaby got out of prison and moved back in with grandma in each house.

Couple of weeks ago one of the thugs decided to see if the other was bullet proof. Turns out, nope. Not sure if anyone died. Then shortly after that, there was a serious gunfight in the same neighborhood. 10+ rounds exchanged in some drive by shit. And the capstone of the native being restless was the car chase that ended a couple of roads down and ultimately led to the police shooting and killing some saucer lip.

And my wife doesn't feel like moving right now.

In EMS it is a rule that if it is cold and/or rainy then they stay in. If it is hot and sunny you can guarantee there will be at least one brotha on something aggression.
