You know, quack, you could've shown us the pictures of the girls...
I didn't see anything notably impressive, personally, and I knew someone else would do it.

Seeing a little asscheek hanging out of shorts on mannish legs...not wow in my book.

Plus I'm admin there. I think I am admin here too but someone temporarily screwed up the HTMLs maybe and I can't edit posts anymore.

"World Record" faggotry aside, that 180lb snatch for a chick that looks like she weighs about 145 lbs is pretty impressive.

EDIT: I actually just watched the video, if this girl had any sort of technique she'd put 50 lbs on that lift in an hour

Maybe not 50, but, yeah, she's strong. I could totally see her doing a 90kg snatch with a little bit of work.

EDIT: looks like she's a real athlete. http://www.gostanford.com/sports/c-trac ... rah00.html "She finished her hammer career in third place at the 2008 Olympic Trials with a personal best throw of 68.60m." Looks like she should be a shoe-in for the world record on the "double-under and hammer throw for distance" WOD, too!

If she keeps doing Crossfit she'll work that down to ~125 feet in no time.

What kind of idiot maxes out a week before a major comp (see 1:28). Also, why go 25lb over the nearest competition? You win the same number of points if you go 1lb over and preserve more energy for the next event... Athlete or not, she's a tool when it comes to strategy.

You should see the number of @fit idiots who go to local weightlifting meets and hit their opener repeatedly for twenty minutes before getting on the platform.

funniest thing: when they then miss their opener.

Based on that weight estimate of 145lb/65k she could either drop a few and lift as a 63k or go up to 69k to compete but either way she'd need a 117/128 snatch to claim a world record, her 80k+ power snatch is a good lift but not by any means a world record. Oh sorry my bad I forgot this was an @bok snatch world record not a real snatch world record.

She's actually a 75K lifter who placed third at nationals. Oddly, her snatch at nationals in March this year was lower than this power snatch.

this is not odd but very normal for someone who took up competitive weightlifting as an adult, especially if she is talented (strongand fast) in the first place and has some speed/strength history (as she has as a thrower). you can expect to *not* be able to do full versions of the lifts at limit weights under pressure (read: on the platform) in the first years all the time.

many many many adult beginners can do more in the power versions. it takes years, literally years of dedicated practice with educated coaches (not x-fit bullshit) several times per week to get really consistent at snatch and clean+jerk under heavy weights. this is no sport you learn in months, but in years. and competitive performance is the last part in the performance puzzle, not the first.

From over on goheavy some phaggot named Anthony Hernandez is obviously hallucinating from drinking the @bok koolaid especially with the last paragraph.
Can you imagine the Greeks thousands of years ago saying...."you know what, screw this we don't need all of those athletes getting together to prove thier the best."

First off the X-Games are very legit, especially the Winter X-Games, where sports such as short track speed skating, Moguls and Snowboarding were eventually included into the Olympics. Stuffy "purist" swore no descent ski resort would ever include facilities for snowboarders. Snowboard areas are now commonplace in most resorts. And snowboarding is a 100 + million a year dollar industry. In fact in many ways the winter X-games brought the Winter Olympics back to life. It introduced new disciplnes, younger crowds, and a littany of new sponsors.

I will predict that buy the 2016 National Championships, virtually every serious or potential medalist will becoming out of a CrossFit box - if they are not already. Most of our top medalist already make a descent buck giving seminars at CrossFit boxes. And already some of the top lifters actually run CrossFit boxes! Last CrossFit as a discipline is not all that bad - and yes there are some elements of CrossFit that are super chesesy. However I believe CrossFit can provide a good foundation for competitive lifters - especially for younger athletes.

Actually went to the European qualifications in Copenhagen this weekend, and it was a good show. Non sense training approach but good comp overall.
Huge difference in strength and skills between the top 10 and the rest of the contestants. I think the latter ones focused too much on fitness, not enough on strength.

Holy fuck.... Are you kidding me? I bet their insurance company does not know about this, nor cover it. There is no way you would catch me in one of these stupid boxes doing asinine workouts and on top of that, letting some ass-monkey soccer mom or liberal arts graduate aim a gun at me from behind. I don't care if some ex-special forces guy says its unloaded. Accidents happen. Trained operators and professionals make mistakes. And said ex-special forces guy obviously has his head up his ass trying to be all cool for the MILFs. Although, I should not be too upset, as this would be a way to thin out the herd and keep these idiots from reproducing.
Calm down. She's about to shoot the idiot that overhead squatted with the baby snuggled on his chest.

Team CFW Disqualified for Competition at 2012 CrossFit Games
Posted 06 Jun 2012 in WODs

I have been informed by the CrossFit Games staff the CrossFit Wilmington team has been disqualified from competition in the 2012 CrossFit Games. I tested positive for banned substances in the urinalysis administered at the CF Games Regional Competition.

The substances are prescription medicines prescribed to me by my Doctors for rehab and repair of injuries. However, I did not familiarize myself with or follow the proper procedures for submitting documentation and making the CrossFit staff aware of my medications. Medications clearly listed as banned substances in the CrossFit Games rulebook. If I had, the outcome may have been different. It is a case of could have, would have should have at this point. That is, past tense and not relevant now.

The bottom line… CrossFit Wilmington will not compete in the 2012 CrossFit Games and I will not be allowed to compete in the 2013 Games. CrossFit Wilmington members and team will be able to compete in 2013, only with additional advanced drug testing.

I have been in direct contact with the CrossFit staff on the topic. They have been very professional in explaining the conditions and sanctions. I applaud and support CrossFit and their efforts to insure a drug free and performance enhancing substance free sport. Instead of giving it lip service and only testing for recreational drugs (like bodybuilding and other sports), CrossFit is testing for real performance enhancing substances. As a sport completely founded on human performance, CrossFit’s drug testing policies will undoubtedly push training programs, diet and supplementation protocols to the next level.

The Girls Day Benefit for this weekend will continue as planned. The proceeds will be donated to a charity of our ladies’ choice.

The CFW team fundraiser scheduled for 30 June is cancelled.

Thank you all very much for supporting the team’s efforts. Tanner, Dawn, Amanda, Melissa, and Cody have worked very hard and have been purely dedicated to their training in the past year. They’ve vowed to simply begin training for the 2013 Games now. They look forward to the “additional advanced testing” and kicking ass next year.
LOL at the plural and the purpose they were "prescribed" for, as well as the fact he won't name them outright.
