Jillette is cool. Smart too.
Obama's narcissism and arrogance is only superseded by his naivete and stupidity.

Re: Penn Jillette Goes Off On Obama's Drug Policies
I'm all for legalizing drugs. However, people in the legalization movement needed to stop spouting off with this 1/6 people are in prison for cannabis alone.
Most of the 1/6 would still be rotting in prison if cannabis was legalized. Because the drug possession charges were just one of many charges filed against them. Plus, in most states the punishment for drug possession is treatment. You have to be a serious fuck up to get your ass thrown into prison for simple drug possession.
Instead of spouting off with Lies, how a bout just saying the truth. The war on drugs has done nothing to solve the drug problem. Instead it has enriched criminals, has militarized our police departments, has eroded our civil liberties, and has squandered billions of tax payers dollars.
These alone are winning arguments for legalizing drugs; particularly cannabis.

Not true. Simple drug possession is automatically redefined as distribution if you have more than a certain amount.Batboy2/75 wrote:You have to be a serious fuck up to get your ass thrown into prison for simple drug possession.

So the law favors buying drugs in small amounts. This means more buys and, while it raises costs for the consumer, it raises employment. Buying drugs in bulk kills small business jobs!Pinky wrote:Not true. Re: Penn Jillette Goes Off On Obama's Drug Policies
This topic is right in my wheelhouse...considering I just signed contracts to be the Medical Director for a minimum of 5 upcoming medical marijuana dispensaries (only 12 will be opening in the entirety of my city) and I'm in the process of getting my WA license to go up there 2-3 days a month to do MMJ recommendations for pre-qualified patients.
All I can do now is hope that public opinion (81% of the people apparently approve of MMJ) kicks the shit out of the Obama administration and all the shitheads funding the opposition.

And we all know small businesses are the key to everything good. I heard Sarah Palin say so herself.Turdacious wrote:So the law favors buying drugs in small amounts. My point was in general, but even taken at face value is still true. If you want to do drugs, don't get caught with over a certain amount and the first option presented to you by a judge will be rehab.Pinky wrote:Not true. Nixon started the WOD and created the DEA. Wasn't he a Republican?
