Re: Albuquerque
I was born there and lived there for 17 years. Cost of living is relatively low, but crime is relatively of high for a city that size. The popular wisdom is that it is mainly a consequence of drug trafficking North from Mexico. I visit twice a year as all of my immediate family still live there and I get homesick for a few weeks after I leave to return to my current home. The mexican food is awesome and people are mostly friendly but drive like assholes. The sunsets are gorgeous, DUI is epidemic, and college footbal is pathetic but college basketball makes up for it. Its a hotspot for MMA training, or at least it used to be. Lots of movies get filmed near there due to the scenery and the tax breaks given to movie studios.
Hope this helps

Re: Albuquerque
I lived there as a kid for about 5 years, and my sister was born there. Killer climate, suited me perfectly. I've been back a couple times, agree with everything in this post.kallistos wrote:I was born there and lived there for 17 years. First NOLA, then Kwame Kirkpatrickville, now Albuquerque? Does the Land of Entrapment deserve the trouble you bring?

Flew over it once. That's all I needed to know not to ever step foot there.

Re: Albuquerque
I spent a few days there a couple of years ago and then drove over some two lane roads to Phoenix. Saw some rock formations that I didn't know were possible. Awesome.
I stayed downtown and it felt like they rolled up the sidewalks too early for a city of its size. I liked the scenery a lot and my wife loved it. I hear that they have a lot of dusty windstorms in the spring. It's definitely worth a look.

It's a good place to operate from.
