Even so, in working for a school, the other witnesses would be educators with a mandate to report. I think.
Penn State had a policy in place for sexual assault, although obviously tailored for the run of the mill daily coed getting assaulted rather than man on boy, but it was there. In certain cases, which I think this fit, the required action for an employee was to go to the police no matter the time, 24/7. They failed in doing so, for sure.

I am in the minority at PSU in thinking JoePa bears a shit-ton of blame in this. Completely apart from his actions in this one case, is the general responsibility for command climate, as we say in the nav. The latest news lends credence to my argument.

I know that universities' duty to act in loco parentis has been downgraded these days, but I find it hard to believe that it doesn't extend to stopping your employees from raping minors on campus.

I love that the big football player/assistant coach slammed a locker to break up a child rape.

I would have argued against you six months ago but, as stories come out, am in near-complete agreement.

He was Catholic, I believe - perhaps authority figures raping young boys wasn't as shocking to him as it would have been to the general population.

jo pa is in hell
The football legend claimed he merely passed reports of Jerry Sandusky’s offenses up the chain of command, but emails from Louis Freeh’s Penn State probe indicate he played a key role in his former assistant coach’s not being reported to authorities—and lied about it.
