It's That Time Again: Le Tour 2012
Post by Holland Oates »
I've no idea who to pull for this year. Contador is out due to a doping ban so my requisite "anyone but Contador" isn't an option and Andy Schleck is out due to an injury so no Schleck brothers band wagon.
I'd like root for Thor simply because the name is BOSS but he's out due to a viral infection.
All the big brains are talking up Brit Bradley Wiggins. And there's a nice group of Americans with outside chances.
Can Cadell pull out a second victory? I personally think not but what the fuck do I know. The time trials play to his strengths so we'll see what the old man can do.

Much like NASCAR I watch for the wrecks as much as I watch the racing.

This season has been a disappointment in terms of wrecks. The sprints for the finish in the early stages of The Tour will make up for that.Ed Zachary wrote:LOL

I think that Evans wins......perhaps. Wiggens won't be able to take back enough time in the TTs but it will be real close.Ed Zachary wrote:Alright man lovers Le Tour starts tomorrow and it's time to break out your rainbow flags and put the rainbow magnets back on the bumper of your Subaru and talk about wee slips of men in sausage gear on tiny little bikes worth more than the car I drive.

Yeah, but if the world's fittest athletes are already busy that weekend that's just going to leave the B-teams on some of the most vital stages of the tour.

I don't see Evans making any kind of comeback.
And I didn't know they had ellipitical chain rings.
