Good luck with that in the Senate.

That website seems journalistically sound and uncrazy.

I didn't read it but am familiar with Jones-- are the Masons or the Bilderbergs behind this?

Forbes isn't a tea party site either.

Re: going for our guns
I recall reading that a Treaty can be approved by 2/3rds of a Senate Quorum. Don't know how many Senators that requires but it's a lot less than 66 of them.
There are three UN treaties on the "illicit drug trade". Almost 3,000,000 US citizens are in Jail many on drug offenses. Thousands of drug cops are on the job. Civil Forfeiture, and restrictions on chemicals and hydroponics have been around for years. None of these things keep street drugs out of the hands of school kids.
If UN treaties can't keep kids from getting drugs how will they keep adults from getting guns or ammunition?

International law cannot override American sovereignty (ie the second amendment).
Obama required language in the treaty that guarantees national sovereignty on small arms (ie the second amendment).
"Larry Bell of Forbes" appears to be some random nutjob with one post there.

People are still worried that the language on "manufacturing" will be so broad as to forbid reloading, swapping out parts on guns, etc. That's all based on a treaty with Central and South American countries the Clinton administration tried to get ratified. That treaty also went nowhere.milosz wrote:International law cannot override American sovereignty (ie the second amendment).

The Senate is not going to ratify a treaty with the UN that the NRA thinks might restrict domestic gun ownership.

We also thought that Congress wouldn't pass the NDAA. And what happened.
Things they are willing to pass are starting to surprise even me.

So true and most of our popular conservative pundits were (and remain) completely silent on NDAA.kreator wrote:We also thought that Congress wouldn't pass the NDAA. And what happened.

At least Repugs are beholden to the IRA so the more of them that we put in the Senate, the safer we are from UN sponsored Bill of Rights restrictions.
That doesn't help us with John McCain and Lindsey Graham sponsored rights restrictions but at least it's something.
