Yeah, not that I expect the truth will ever be known, but as a case study in business-negotiation-psychology, it would be fascinating to know the details. At what point did negotiations break down and who was the first to say/think, "Well F#%K you then?" I assume this coincides with the expiration of binding contracts, so at what point does JDC say/think, "This Ruskie is simply demanding too much"? DD was, IIRC, a sleepy company until the whole "Evil One" persona was created. Should be fun to watch, like a reality tv show, what directions the players take henceforth.

This has been talked about for a while. I attended the level 2 last year and Pavel was barely around. He was there for introductions in the am and would disappear. Show up, teach a drill and disappear again.

I then assisted at an rkc a few months later and it was the same thing, he let the staff teach most of the cert, and would just show his face now and then. Watching from the outside, he just seemed over the whole thing compared to the earlier certs.

I believe there was one cert last year run by brett, Pavel was not even there.

Anyone who has been around them for a while should not see this as a surprise.

Pavel was very nice when I went. He was genuinely interested in what Cate taught re:GS skills, even rode with me to the hotel to continue the talks. Lots of knowledge.

Buddy of mine got his RKC this year and said pretty much the same thing.

I could swear I read speculation about this a while back, maybe when Easy Strength came out, here at IGx. Maybe Shaf brought it up?
As a total outsider, it seems pretty unsurprising.

I met Pavel once at a seminar at Wake Forest University put on by Ethan Reeve. He was extremely nice. We made sex.

Pavels gone beyond the RKC. I think the FMS stuff might have been the start. Rifs going with Pavel.

Conversely, the kettlebell stuff thebRKC teaches has significantly less depth than the GS stuff straight from Russia.

I am still of the opinion that the RKC stuff is better for a beginning kettlebeller than just about anything else out there.
And maybe just for general KB S&C work.

I think some of his negatives came from JDC pushing for promotion. I don't think he would have been putting up " Master of Sports" in his ad copy on his own. In an old interveiw with Muscle Media he used his degree from IFK and being a PT Instructor in Navel Spetznaz as his bona fides.

All of us involved with the early days of KBs are guilty of various degrees of chest beating trying to promote our bizz back then. The middle crop and the newer ones are fucking over the top.

My guess is that PT has learned a bit about promotion in his time with DD. I would hope he has someone to help him with it-- he's put out some pretty good stuff over the years and hasn't gone Lyle McDonald on anybody that I've seen.

If the word on the street of @FHQ firing all of their current SMEs soon, assuming that Pavel and Martone are still on good terms, it would seem like a good idea.

Maybe he'll get the band back together. Martone, Maxwell, Morrison, etc.

Steve Maxwell mentioned at his cert a few years back he left because of JDC, not Pavel.

It has been a long time since I went over to DD.

This thread just reminds me of how the RKC got taken over by suck ups and the kind of stereotypical persoanl trainers most of us earlier K'bellers and RKCs hated.

Mahler and Cotter did just fine after leaving them, Mahler did better.

My association with Mike has helped me more than the RKC ever did.

You would never think that if you beleived the shit on this thread from DD.
