Government can perform some missions pretty well. Send people to the Moon. Send robots to Mars. Exterminate millions of human beings.

They do other things really shitty. Provide Medical Services. Educate children. Insure everyone's personal security.

Many Socialized nations tax food to pay for medical services. The higher prices of food have placed the people are in a state of caloric restriction. I think we'll discover that a lot of the outcomes have nothing to do with the quality of medical services and quite a lot to do with lifestyles. The Okinawan experience.
