Bullshit. She's a hysterical twit, and she didn't "try everything".

Here's a thought - turn the shiny thing that people call a key and let the car to safely slow down.Crust Bucket wrote:¡Ay, caramba!

Not all cars will let you do that in drive, but those that do leave you without steering. Inadvisable.Dux wrote:Here's a thought - turn the shiny thing that people call a key and let the car to safely slow down.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

That's good skills on her part. But she should have just rolled out James Bond stylee, dusted off her jacket and made a witty quip as it fireballed in the background. Maybe she couldnt think of a decent quip. I'd have said, "That traffic was murder".
It's great to be first at last

Not sure that turning the key off leaves you without steering - it will leave you without power steering, which should give most people enough control to still control it til it finally stops.

Any explanation for why the brakes didn't work? A stuck accelerator doesn't kill the brakes, and even a Kia has brakes that are more powerful than its engines.
My money is on this woman panicking when the accelerator stuck and failing to apply the brakes.

Option A: Put it in Neutral
Option B: Push down the brake pedal until the car stops
Either one would've worked. I don't know what she was trying.

It's a pushbutton start car and supposedly the brakes burnt out. There are lots of articles on this if anyone wants to read.
