Not sure I agree with you on that, although the idea would be nice. Foreign governments have a million and one ways to say no to us, and the government may not be very stable.Fat Cat wrote:Well, that sucks. But it happened. Now the Libyan government owes us big, and I say use this opportunity to draw the Libyan government into our sphere. They are not in any position to say no to us now.
And RIP to the FSOs and FSNs who lost their lives.

Here here...
RIP to some unappreciated bureaucrats. No one deserves that.
Politically, Fats may be correct but I can't help thinking we could afford to some satellite time, and a few CIA "analysts". I fell "the way forward" should be right through a wet of smear of dead protesters.

The attack that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other American diplomats in Benghazi, Libya, may have been planned and organized in advance, U.S. government officials said on Wednesday.
The officials said that there were indications that members of a militant faction calling itself Ansar al Sharia - which translates as Supporters of Islamic Law - may have been involved in organizing the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya's second-largest city.
