I blame Tim Ferriss for the idea that autopilot incomes can exist outside of trust funds. Systems can be built to make it easier, and I know of a few people who are maybe around an 16-30 hour workweek, but they're still far from passive business owners.
Yeah. The one thing they do well is help me keep my job. Reagan took away our power to strike. And we are a closed shop so no union membership means no job. And I make great money with great benefits for the area plus I like my job.

And shitty union or not I still make more money than most of the college graduates I know.

It's quite an accomplishment of my local that I hate them even more than I hate my employers. My employers may be corrupt scumbags, but at least they are competent.
My unions only competence is to collect dues, so basically at this point both sides are stealing my money.
Our contract is up at the end of this month, and I may push to decertify.
I'm getting fucked either way, but I'm not into getting DPed.
