No way to treat our friends. Or our enemies.

Post by johno »

Sen. Rand Paul is threatening to hold up Senate business until lawmakers address the case of jailed Pakistani doctor Shakil Afridi, after Afridi detailed in an exclusive jail-cell interview how the same spy-service interrogators who tortured him also revealed they consider Americans to be their "worst enemies."

Afridi, the doctor who helped the CIA track Usama bin Laden, described brutal torture at the hands of Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence.

He said, in an interview with Fox News, that they told him "the Americans are our worst enemies, worse than the Indians." Afridi said the country's claims of cooperation with the U.S. are a sham to "extract" billions in U.S. aid.

What are lawmakers supposed to do?
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

US Marine Gen. Mattis popularized the slogan, "No better friend, no worse enemy." IMO, that should be our military & diplomatic mindset.

In this case, we fail on both sides of the ledger.

Rand Paul is doing good work, and his fellow Republican Senators aren't happy about it.

Well, I guess we enact the Spells Doctrine; bake them some cookies and then cower behind our girlfriends.
Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

Yep, I like him alot more than his Dad. All I like about Ron without sounding like an old Lib grandma when it comes to defense.

Granted I think his Dad would strike back hard if he was POTUS and we were attacked but Rand strikes me as the kind of guy who whips out a swift kick to the balls as soon as a mother fucker draws his fist back to strike or begins to act shifty.

Shit, should'nt this Doctor be intitled to that big, multi million dollar reward we posted after 8-11?

Seems to me SEAL 6 should be sent back in to rescue this guy like Delta did with Muse in Panama.

In case of rapist, drop trou, and offer up the asshole. Maybe ask if you can suck his cock first. Tell him how you see things his way. Troy Doctrine!

Paul filibustered earlier this week - it is worth watching the entire video. I don't have access to YouTube here but will post later if somebody hasn't already done so.

It is a shame that he has values enough not to pretend that he is batshit crazy enough to get the GOP nomination for POTUS because I would vote for such a man, especially in this year's field.

Bring all our people and all our money home for 6 months - ought to get someones attention over there. Wouldn't hurt this country either to have those billions at work rebuilding things here.
