Stretch a tent, make huge fire, put rocks in it, and then carry rocks into the tent and pour water on it. Make a hot steam sauna that you would die for when you spend a few days at a campsite. The chilling cold mountain river is a great refreshment measuring up only to jumping into snow. This is step by step instructions on how to make a steam sauna by your campsite in the wilderness.

Sounds frooty as all get out but in archeology field school we did the Tlingit purification thing of repeated sweats in a wikiup and then you jump into the salt water...It gave me some of the most outstanding hallucinations I've had, chemistry or no...did I mention you whip yourself with nettles too?

Be careful not to use volcanic rocks or you will have made your very own human fragmentation grenade.
