No, but I was a latchkey kid and started watching the news at a way to early age. Andy I remember watching Frank Reynolds just as I remember when Rather took over for Cronkite.

Step Dad was a D.O.D. Employee at an Air force base, so the direct economic effect of defense spending was felt at my home sooner than some.

Real Dad had a construction co. and I remember the year Blade Runner came out he was still working with his tools. The next year he was driving around to the different jobs to tell guys what to do and going to offices to meet important people. The following year he was sitting in in air conditioned office and important people were coming to see him.

I remember Christmas of 79 being a humble, but thoughtfull affair and I remember Christmas of 82 being mondo and the one of 83 being off the hook pure child spoiling.
